winbindd: local unix users vs. NTdomain users ........
Hi! I use Samba 2.2.2 on Linux Red Hat 7.1. My Samba server is NT domain member (security = domain), and I use winbindd. I detect some strange situation, as I look. See below. For example, my NT domain is MYDOMAIN (PDC implemented on NT4), and this domain have user myuser (MYDOMAIN+myuser as see him Samba&Winbindd). Linux, which run Samba&winbindd, have local user myuser too. Local

1.0.rc28 / v1.0 plans
I'll probably release 1.0.rc28 in a few days. Would be nice to get some testing for it first. http://dovecot.org/nightly/dovecot-latest.tar.gz contains pretty much what it's supposed to be. I've now replied to all the mails I was planning on replying, excluding the few patches that are v1.1 material. If you think I forgot to reply to some mail, please resend it. I think the

The problem with names like "ellsif" is that it sounds like "else if". I like the

MANAGESIEVE patch v4 for dovecot 1.0.rc28
Hello dovecot users, I have updated the MANAGESIEVE patch to fix the currently known small problems with the protocol implementation. It is designed for rc28, but also compiles cleanly with the current cvs branch_1_0. Change Log V4 ------------- - Added managesieve_implementation_string setting to the managesieve configuration. This can be used to customize the default

libvirt bridge configuration
Hi Every one, I'm hoping some one can point me in the right direction. We are piloting KVM + Libvirt for migrating off Xen and I'm stuck with the network bridge configuration via libvirt. What we have currently with xen is: 1 server with Wan/lan interfaces and a pool of public ip addresses. Using xen bridge scripts I'd start a xenbr0 and attach eth0 (wan) and go ahead and assign

mbox sync/lock issue, rc28 and later
Help! I just noticed this error this morning, we have been getting a lot of these in rc28 and rc29, not in rc27 or before: Apr 6 07:22:52 karst dovecot: [ID 107833 mail.error] IMAP(jaearick): mbox file /var/mail/j/jaearick was modified while we were syncing, check your locking settings Pine coughed up an internal error, no core dump, and dovecot basically doubled the size of my mailbox by

Bug in Kerberos support for openssh.
It took me a while to track this down. I am using MIT Kerberos 1.4.3 and libgssapi-0.7. With some patches that came with Suse 10, but that doesn't appear to be relevant. I have been using openssh-4.2p1 (with Simon's patches) and openssh-4p3p2 out of the box. I see the same problem no matter which version of openssh I am using. I am using two Suse Linux x86 boxes as a test

MANAGESIEVE patch v3 for dovecot 1.0.rc28
Hello dovecot users, I have updated the MANAGESIEVE patch to apply and compile against dovecot 1.0.rc28. Not much has changed with respect to the functionality of the previous version however: ChangeLog vs v2 - Updated source to compile with dovecot 1.0.rc28, tested with rc27 (debian package) - Daemon now uses the same location for .dovecot.sieve as dovecot-lda This is typically

./configure and /or Makefile problem
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 This is on OpenBSD 3.x. I'll fully admit not being a savvy programmer and therefore unable to suggest a decent resolution. It seems that _something_ in either the main "configure" script or one of the Makefile.in templates is causing the Makefiles in src/auth and src/util to add two variables named "AUTH_CFLAGS" and

rc28 : can't set quotas with userdb + passwd file
I'm using dovecot 1.0 rc28 - great software! I have a virtual hosting setup, with passdb and userdb both using a passwd file. I cannot get per-user quotas put in the relevant field of the userdb to work. They appear to be completely ignored; only the setting from /etc/dovecot.conf is applied. Can anyone confirm that this is working for them? If it is, can you post the relevant bits of
