Sieve segfault on sieve-before scripts
I use dovecot 1.2.4 release with sieve 0.1.12
If I setup sieve-before script and latest script contains "keep" at
the very end and no personal scripts found then segfault take place.
here is part of exim log:

Exim+dovecot and quota check in exim's ACL before real message routing.
Good day.
I want to migrate from cyrus-imap to dovecot but I can not find replacement of one feauture presented in the
cyrus-imap. It is LMTP. All mail users are virtual and mail works like: username at real-domain.com ->
anotherusername at fake-domain.local. I whould like to check "delivery is possable" in the exim's ACL. In the
exim+cirus scheme I use Callout verification from

Mistake in Wiki
http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA reads:
"Exim
System-users
Replace/rewrite the default local_delivery router:"
I believe it should refer to a the default local_deliver transport,
and not router.
The page is immutable so can't edit it.

[Bug] dovecot deliver v1.2.1 segfaults
Hello list,
I have noticed strange dovecot behavior with exim system-filter.
I'm using exim+dovecot setup. My exim configuration have system filter enable, which restrict some attachments, like exe, vbs etc. When message with forbidden attachment received, exim accept the message, then construct bounce-message(Reject reason + original message) and returns it to sender. Trying to deliver such

Libdovecot-sieve segfaults
Hello Stephan,
Preface - one of my users went to vacation and changed his sieve script to run autoreply vacation message, after that - I have noticed some annoying errors in system log, like:
dovecot-lda[2400]: segfault at 3eb3333f ip b7446c7a sp bfaab050 error 4 in libdovecot-sieve.so.0.0.0[b7429000+5b000]
Dovecot-error log is empty, but in exim log(exim runs dovecot-lda) I got:

mailbox locking
Dear Colleagues,
I use exim's appendfile transport, procmail and a local mutt on my
system, they all (to my knowledge) use lockfiles when working with
mboxes.
However, `doveconf | grep lock` says
dotlock_use_excl = yes
lock_method = fcntl
mail_max_lock_timeout = 0
mbox_dotlock_change_timeout = 2 mins
mbox_lock_timeout = 5 mins
mbox_read_locks = fcntl
mbox_write_locks = dotlock fcntl

rsync (or rsync-like tool) provides local metadata cache ?
Let's say I have a slow, or high latency (or both) link between two hosts, and transferring data is expensive.
Is it possible with rsync (or any other tool like rsync) to maintain a local metadata cache, such that I can rsync without transferring data to and from the hosts about what files are already in place ?
That is, I already "know" what is out there and don't need to

dovecot-auth (1.0rc24) on Solaris seems broken.
I've trying to get dovecot-auth to talk to exim and have been running
debugging on both sides.
I've added the line:
i_info("auth_client_input: client disconnected: %s", strerror(errno));
just after the "case -1" in the first switch statement in:
auth-client-connection.c: auth_client_input()
and get this in the logs:
dovecot: Feb 27 13:35:09 Info: auth(default):

ZFS but how?
Hi,
I''m still debating wether I should use ZFS or not and how. Here is my
scenario.
I want to run a server with a lot of storage, that gets disks
added/upgraded from time to time to expand space. I''d want to store
large files on it, 15mb - 5gb per file, and they''d only need to be
accessible via NFS/FTP and maybe CIFS. The machine I have dedicated for
this job would be

MonkeyShell: using XML-RPC for access to a remote shell
Security pundits have been warning about the dangers implicit with Web

Of course to really understand the security risks posed by Web services,

Domain Member Server problems
Hi all,
I'm not having any success adding samba (3.0.28 on Solaris 10) to a Windows

googling)

The error is:

How does sieve's vacation keep track of duplicates?
I see the .dovecot.lda-dupes file that is created, but it doesn't seem
like just plain text, and it doesn't seem to include strings of the
senders, just the recipient. But I know the vacation functionality is
clever enough to keep track of who it's already autoreplied to.
On a related note, I'm curious about other smarts built in to sieve's
vacation responder -- what other
