Good evening folks
I read this statement in the wiki regarding Bind9
"You must not add the AD domain forward or reverse zone records to the
named.conf files, these zones are stored dynamically in Ad"
This means that administration software like Webmin can't be used with the
samba/bind combo, and zones must be managed exclusively with "samba-tool
dns" .
So what is the

Upgrade from 4.13 to 4.20 failed
Rowland, you nailed it. I had both libpam and libnss installed, but
they were not automatically upgraded together witn winbind and samba.
They were still on 4.17 from the staged upgrade, but now updated to
4.20. And the shares are working again! Amazing :)
Thanks

?and this is a Debian Bookworm with back ported packages. Samba-tool should
belong to samba-common-bin which I have installed from the backports. But

Agreed, I will keep the NT1 share on a separate VM and create a new
one for the other services. Air-gapping will be difficult though, but
I will check what can be done.
Thanks
