+ migrations in camping
Camping apps are supposed to be little independent apps, often contained in a single file, which create the database tables and manage them without hassle. These days it''s common to see in a Camping app: module Tepee::Models def self.schema(&block) @@schema = block if block_given? @@schema end end Tepee::Models.schema do create_table :tepee_pages,

changes in coxph in "survival" from older version?
Hi all, I found that the two different versions of "survival" packages, namely 2.36-5 vs. 2.36-8 or later, give different results for coxph function. Please see below and the data is attached. The second one was done on Linux, but Windows gave the same results. Could you please let me know which one I should trust? Thanks, ...Tao #####============================ R2.13.0,

yumrepo is missing name attribute in repo files using puppet-0.24.8-4.el5
I''m using puppet-0.24.8-4.el5 on CentOS 5.4. My problem is yumrepo isn''t writing the "name=" field to the repository files which causes yum to complain with the error: Repository ''local-CentOS-5.4-x86_64'' is missing name in configuration, using id I get this behavior on all of my yumrepo definitions. One of them looks like this: yumrepo {

[PATCH v4 2/7] common: Bundle the libvirt-ocaml library for use by virt-v2v
Add a copy of the libvirt-ocaml library, currently available at: https://libvirt.org/git/?p=libvirt-ocaml.git;a=summary This is a snapshot at commit d3ed8dcf1b0a6a8a855ceecbe0bb97f21e6665e3, which has all the features we need (and that builds fine). It is expected to stay synchronized with upstream, until there is a new upstream release, and it will be widespread enough. --- .gitignore

Re-binning histogram data
Hi, Short Version: Is there a function to re-bin a histogram to new, broader bins? Long version: I'm trying to create a histogram, however my input-data is itself in the form of a fine-grained histogram, i.e. numbers of counts in regular one-second bins. I want to produce a histogram of, say, 10-minute bins (though possibly irregular bins also). I suppose I could re-create a data set as

scripting/littler: How to call function named iteratively (`f1`, `f2`, …)?
Dear R folks, wanting to compare different implementations of a solution I want to script it to iterate over the different implementations. Is there a way to do this in the R shell/command line? $ more /tmp/iterf.r f1 <- function(n = 100000, l = 100000) { z = n + l } f2 <- function(n = 100000,

CVS update: rsync

I don't think the --backup rule should be perishable. If I delete an entire directory from the source, I would expect the receiver to back up the files inside and not discard the backups just

File size limitation?
When I run backup and send the output to a file on the server, I get a file limitation of 2g. When I do the same backup to a snap server, there is no problem. Is there a size limitation for a single file? Thanks, Steven C. Henry stevench@xnet.com

SAMBA with LDAP - net join fails
Hi, I have performed all the steps from John Tepstra's "Samba-3 by Example" 20 April 2005 to Chapter 5, step 21, pg 146. (My goal is to have SAMBA with LDAP and no MS Windows servers.) Everything appears to work properly to this point. When I perform the command: (amd is the name of this test server) net rpc join -S AMD -U root%not24get I get the error: Could not connect to

set.seed ( ) function
I am using /set.seed()/ before the /sample/ function. How does the length of the argument of /set.seed()/ and order of the digits affect how the sampling is carried out? Specifically, I have used set.seed(123456789). Will this configuration give me a genuinely random sampling?? Thank you in anticipation. Penny. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

AudioCodes MP-104 MGCP?
Greetings; We are trying to get Asterisk up and happy at our site-we tried VOIP using Sphere about a year ago, spent a *boodle* on expensive hardware and services from a local "expert", but it never was happy. I'm brand-spanking new at VOIP, and I've learned a *ton* getting Asterisk breathing in the last couple of days. I have three Polycom Soundpoint IP 500 SIP phones, which

There are some unwritten pages in the wiki, and I still haven't bothered
