Fwd: [MORG] IMAP5 List
If anyone's interested, especially client developers. It's been a bit
quiet there after the initial rush.

Fwd: MS asks for feedback on standards support in Outlook/Exchange
Someone should at least mention that they should support the real SPECIAL-USE instead of just Gmail-specific XLIST..

sorting question
Hi,
If I understand the thread sorting algorithm correctly (from
draft-ietf-imapext-sort-17.txt and the code), it will sort like this
(where I use numbers instead of dates with higher numbers being newer
mails)
4
10
3
11
2
12
1
13
etc into all the lower levels. Thunderbird will actually sort this like
this:
1
13
2
12
3
11
4

IMAP threading - the THREAD command
Hi folks,
there's an extension [1] to IMAP specifying the THREAD command to return
list of message sequence numbers grouped to indicate the threading of
them. That draft currently defines two algorithms, one of them based
solely on Subjects (which is rather dumb) and the second one, combining
Subjects with In-Reply-To (etc) headers.
The second method is actually advertised and supported by

Question regarding performance of dovecot-1.0.15
Hi,
I have a dovect 1.0.15 on my mailserver and as a Client I use
offlineimap.
Since some time now my mailsynchronisation got slow - I don't know
exactly where the problem is, but I tried to track it down. Usually
the UID-Searches are fast (according to the offlineimap-debugging) but
as soon as it comes to big folders it takes a long time:

I have heard that people have gotten Dune2000 to work under winex, but
I've had no luck doing so. Could someone who has post their

bit rate
It's technically good at streaming for broadcasters because, if it encodes
something simple, it drops the bitrate and therefore our costs.
And it sounds great too, but you wanted technical reasons... !
By the way, Virgin Radio UK's broadband streams are now proper stereo,
instead of the suspicious mono-sounding version you had for the past few
weeks - so if you want your non-technical

Samba 2.2 PDC to ADS member server migration issues
Hi, our company has for the last 3 years run a SAMBA PDC/Fileserver. Sadly
circumstances dictate that we now need to move to an Active Directory
infrastructure, and I want to migrate the existing PDC to a Samba3 ADS member
server. All our SAMBA domain users have identical accounts on our AD domain,
and I have successfully joined our SAMBA3 test box to the AD domain as a native

LDB object number limitations
Hi list,
here is a Samba4 AD with LDB.
Is there any limit for number of possible objects? I mean users, computers,
and other kind of nodes.
On a Samba Wiki page, the doc notes:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/LDB#How_LDB_uses_TDB
"How LDB uses TDB
LDB basically sits on top of TDB and manipulates the data into an LDAP-like
structure."
And I've found a doc here:

New Ogg Vorbis streams
It might be interesting for this list to know that we've never had more
positive feedback for anything we've done on the website than the amount of
nice feedback we've got since introducing our Ogg streams.
Readers of this list might like to know that we've just launched another two
stations onto the excellent Ogg Vorbis platform. Again, we'd ask for your
help in publicising

EAC
Can someone help me to get EAC working. I am new to wine and don't have a clue
to get my cdrom working. Everything I tried so far, resulted in EAC freezing.
Thanks

ATTN Jamie Thompson: Authentication Issues
I was having the exact same problem, where the NT4 box complains, "The
client is not authorized to login from this station." or something to
that effect. The problem is that the Samba machine is not set up to use
encrypted passwords, and NT requires them by default. You can either
change a setting in the NT registry, making it allow clear-text logins,
or you can set up your Samba box to

Problem with Samba: "The account is not authorized to login from this station"
I am having a problem configuring Samba to work with my NT mahcines. I
can see the linux server from my NT machines. Under security=user, when
I attempt to browse the linux machine's shares, it asks for a username
and password, and then fails, telling me "The account is not authorized
to login from this station." If I set security = share, I can browse the
shares, but when I try and

Virgin Radio launches an Ogg stream
Apologies if this is a bit of a commercial post (I've not been lurking
long), but you might like to know that the world's most listened-to online
radio station has just launched an Ogg stream. (As of today!)

(or alternatively www.virginradio.co.uk/thestation/listen from a non MSIE+PC
