FreeBSD not-so-stable
I have a FreeBSD 4.8-Release machine that I upgraded from a 4.5 or 4.4 machine. It works just great for about 9 days, then processes will not die. It starts to become a problem when I can't kill processes, restart services, connections hang, and I can't reboot or shutdown, I have to do a hard reset. I can't really find anything in the logs to indicate what is giving me

parameters to deliver
Read this in the dovecot sieve wiki: "The envelope sender is taken from a Return-Path: header in the message. The envelope recipient is taken from -d option passed to deliver." Is "-d" still a valid deliver switch? When I configure postfix's main.cf like so... mailbox_command = /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/deliver -d -e ..it sqwaks with, "Jun 18 18:44:50

smbd running multiple times
Dear "someone who can help", I am having a problem with SAMBA and SWAT (although I'm not sure SWAT is part of the problem...) I get two instances of "smbd" when ever it is started on this system. From SWAT I can only stop it ONE time. After that, each time I attempt to stop the SMBD daemon from SWAT it simply starts TWO more instances of the daemon (or something

[LLVMdev] Problems with nighttest FeatureTests
I think there is a very similar situation with the PowerPC/Mac OS X nightly tests. Over each of the past few nights, something has been filling up the process table, causing me to be unable to log in. The nightly tester wrote out regression test and feature test logs featuring hundreds of "Resource temporarily unavailable" errors from fork(), so I assume it's the qmtest

[LLVMdev] Problems with nighttest FeatureTests
A typo in test/Makefile was the trigger for this problem: http://mail.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvm-commits/Week-of-Mon-20041101/ 020216.html John, can you please look into this bug some more and add some error checking to the llvm-specific qmtest python modules to make this error less severe? Approaching the limit on PV entries, consider increasing either the vm.pmap.shpgperproc or the vm.pmap.pv_entry_max sysctl.
Hello, I have a FreeBSD 7.0-STABLE amd64 box which gives this message with apache 2.2 very often. Previously the contents of the box was on 6.3-STABLE x86 and I had no such problems. SSH/v1 dead processes bug
Should I submit this as a proper bug, or will someone look at it? Basically, between 4.7-REL and 4.8-REL ssh was upgraded and now exhibits the following bug. If you connect with protocol v1 you get three ssh processes, one of which never dies, even after the ssh session has been closed. % ps aux | grep ssh root 219 0.0 0.0 4076 0 ?? IW - 0:00.00 sshd: paul [priv root

LDA ignored
Hi, my final goal is it to make use Dovecot's sieve modul - but unfortunately I'm not getting the LDA running as it is described in the Dovecot's wiki pages ... ;/ I've more and more getting the feeling that the LDA section in the configuration is completely ignored, cause whatever change I do in there is not being recognized at all - I could just type wildly arround in there
