Chainloading from Vista x64 bootloader to Extlinux?
Hi syslinux list, Some months ago, hpa was kind enough to help me troubleshoot booting Extlinux in a system with the following particulars: * Windows Vista x64 bootloader in the MBR and Vista installed in /dev/sda1 * Extlinux 3.72 installed in the first sector of /dev/sda2 and Foresight Linux installed in /dev/sda2 (at the time I tried, 3.72 was the default bootloader in Foresight) The problem

is there a conary package provider in the works?
I have some rpath/foresight machines I''d like to puppet''ize but AFAIK no one''s made a conary package provider ... I suppose what I most care about are config files for now -- because we are using the "conary way" of keeping our packages updated. That said, it would be nice to know that there''s something out there? If there isn''t one ... I

support for multiple codepages at once?
I have a bunch of files on a Windows (98) machine which use different character sets. Some of the filenames have German characters in them, some French, Polish, others Scandinavian and even Korean. Everything except the Korean files seem to be correctly represented by the Windows box. I read the Samba documentation fairly thoroughly, and can see with a little foresight I can set Samba up to

Crashing after Update
Hello All! I''ve been running Rails 2.0.2 with Ruby 1.8.6 for the last six months. I developed an application that runs fine on two different servers -- or at least, it used to. I used Mongrel as a development server, but requirements called for using Apache for a production deployment. I found Phusion Passenger (mod_rails) and decided to give it a try. I decided to update my rubygems

If the conversion were simple enough to be easily automated, the new system is probably no more than just a syntactic difference away from the old, and thus does not provide any

varpart
Dear R-users I applied vegan's varpart function to partition the effects of explanatory matrices. Adj. R square for the unique fraction [a] is 0.25. Does anyone know why the decomposition by hand using rda gives me a different result for [a] (constrained proportion is 0.32)? I used cbind() for the conditional fractions, but it should be similar to condition()? Thanks very much

pt inaccurate when x is close to 0 (PR#9945)
While I agree that the reported results from Mathematica have only 10-13 correct digits, that does not mean that pt() in R is any better for these calculations. For instance the following three calculations are mathematically equivalent, but pt() disagrees at the 13th figure in R v2.6.2 pt(1e-4,13) pf(1e-8,1,13)/2+0.5 pbeta(1/(1+13/1e-8),.5,6.5)/2+0.5 Using 1/(1+n/x^2) and reversing the
