Tracing a server problem

Dovecot 'suicide'
I have a Dovecot installation on a Fedora 4. With the last update from Dovecot RC10 to Dovecot RC27, the daemon kills itself every night with this error: Mar 17 05:23:11 mail dovecot: Time just moved backwards by 6 seconds. Moving Maildir folders
Our office had a user leave. Another user is taking over her duties and needs reference to the departing user's email. I've copied that entire departed user's Maildir structure to the current user: mv olduser/Maildir/.* curuser/Maildir/.olduser I did change permission and ownership on curuser/Maildir/.olduser to be the target user. I did not bring over the olduser/Maildir/dovecot*

IMAP IDLE - iPhone?
Hi All, Probably a very common question now days. I'd like to configure our iPhones at work to go directly to my dovecot server (currently dovecot-2.0.9-2.el6_1.1.x86_64). Using the IMAP IDLE (push email) protocol. Has anyone successfully deployed this? If yes, did you have to use an app from the Apple store? Time just moved backwards error even with ntpd
Scenario: server PC abruptly switched off due to power cable problems (an UPS cannot solve this issue), so during shutdown Linux was not able to resinchronize the system clock.
