Hi, my dovecot installation dovecot-2.0.9-19.el6_7.2.x86_64 can't authenticate using winbind from 4.4.3, but it can with winbind from 4.4.2. 4.4.3: May 5 22:11:07 sambaserver auth: pam_winbind(dovecot:auth): getting password (0x00000010) May 5 22:11:07 sambaserver auth: pam_winbind(dovecot:auth): pam_get_item returned a password May 5 22:11:07 sambaserver auth: pam_winbind(dovecot:auth):

When I installed 4.4.2 samba stopped authenticating passwords against the ads properly. I am using sssd and have verified that it is working correctly and able to validate passwords. I am not running winbind. Both 4.4.0 and 4.4.2 were compiled using exactly the same

samba 4.4.2 client can't join 3.x NT4 domain
With the ubuntu security updates on Monday that broke everything, I downgraded my 12.04 3.6x samba packages on my NT4 DC - now my windows 7 domain members can join and function OK and am looking into a 14.04 client that was a member and cannot now join, and the downgrade also failed. So I got 4.4.2 source and built on the system and have tried to join, but it fails. Below is some debug

Upgrade from 4.2.10 Sernet packages to 4.4.2 selfcompiled
Hi, is there a "How to" for upgrading a DC from 4.2.10 Sernet packages to Samba 4.4.2 self compiled on a debian system? I think there are two options? Replace the sernet file: 1. Compile Samba (https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Build_Samba_from_source) with the paths given by smbd -b 2. make install But what happens to the sernet packages/repository handled by the package manager?
