MANAGESIEVE patch v3 for dovecot 1.0.rc28
Hello dovecot users, I have updated the MANAGESIEVE patch to apply and compile against dovecot 1.0.rc28. Not much has changed with respect to the functionality of the previous version however: ChangeLog vs v2 - Updated source to compile with dovecot 1.0.rc28, tested with rc27 (debian package) - Daemon now uses the same location for .dovecot.sieve as dovecot-lda This is typically

I wrote a managesieve server for Dovecot
I have written a managesieve server from scratch in Python. I did just enough work to get it working with avelsieve (the squirrelmail plugin), smartsieve, and KDE's sieve kioplugin. It supports the entire Internet draft. Since I didn't have a working sieve server to compare against, I'm not sure if it's 100% compatible with timsieved. Client applications seem to work okay

Managesieve with multiple uid's
Hi, I'm trying to setup a system with dovecot to remove the old courier one, and everything (pop3, imap, lmtp, quotas) but managesieve is working fine. It seems like it's a problem with each user having a separate uid, because I have a working similar setup with a single uid working without problems. In this system when I try to connect to the managesieve port using telnet I get no

MANAGESIEVE patch v6 for dovecot 1.0.3
Hello dovecot users, I have updated the MANAGESIEVE patch to (hopefully) fix the compilation issues reported by Robin Breathe. This is a patch against the latest stable release 1.0.3. It currently won't compile with 1.1 due to significant changes in the master code. Change Log V6 ------------- - Corked the client output stream while producing the capability greeting and on other some

MANAGESIEVE patch v5 for dovecot 1.0.2
Hello dovecot users, I have finally updated the MANAGESIEVE patch to fix the currently known small problems with the protocol implementation. Also, I included a proxy implementation based on imap-proxy.c. This patch is designed for dovecot release 1.0.2 and it will not apply cleanly to the 1.1 versions yet. Change Log V5 ------------- - Applied patch by Uldis Pakuls to fix

Specifically, Support for Sieve scripts (RFC 3028) and the protocol for remotely managing Sieve scripts, including: -- draft-martin-managesieve-06.txt -- draft-ietf-sieve-imapflags-05.txt And the following Sieve actions: -- fileinto -- redirect -- imapflags Thanks, Robb Beal -- www.laszlosystems.com --

Problem with managesieve (and virtual users?)
Hello, I use the debian packages from http://xi.rename-it.nl/debian/ version 1.1.7-0~auto+17 If I put a sieve script into /home/vmail/sieve-scripts/test.de/test.sieve it is used, so cmusieve works. But if I activate managesieve I get in the log: dovecot: 2008-12-14 21:24:49 Fatal: managesieve-login: USER environment missing dovecot: 2008-12-14 21:24:49 Error: managesieve-login: BYE

Released Sieve v0.1.7 and ManageSieve v0.11.6 for Dovecot v1.2.0
Hello Dovecot users, I hereby release new versions of the Sieve packages for the recently released Dovecot v1.2.0 (Congrats Timo!). Apart from small changes to make things compile with Dovecot again, a few other bugs were fixed as well. Unfortunately, the (FreeBSD-specific) 8kb script truncation bug remains. Although it is reported for Dovecot v1.1.16, I see no reason why it should not

In-site migration from /etc/passwd to LDAP
I'm doing in-site migration of accounts from /etc/passwd to an LDAP directory. The migration should be progressive (not all users at the same time). I'm already able to check mail for accounts in /etc/passwd and accounts in LDAP. The problem is with mail delivery. I'm using Postfix + Dovecot-LDA. This is the error I get with every delivery -- dovecot: Oct 03 00:16:09 Info:

auth_user setting?
Hi all, I've installed rc23 in a new testing machine, and i've had some permission problems related to dovecot-master.conf. As I have my master passwords in that file, I don't want it to be world readable. dovecot -n shows that auth_user is nobody, so setting the permissions to nobody.whatever 640 solves the problem. Anyway, I've tried to change the auth_user setting with no

High Availability strategies
Hi, we have a medium setup (8000 pop and imap users using almost every available client, 800GB of stored mails using maildir on a Celerra NFS server, with index files on local disks, and procmail for local delivery), being served by a Dell PowerEdge 2850 (2GB RAM and dual P4 Xeon 3,2GHz). Our current not-so-high availability setup is based on a similar server with the same setup and a easy

doveadm director status username != doveadm director status username@mailserver
Hi, I've almost finished my new director based setup, but in the first test I discovered that imap and lmtp connections were not always being proxied to the same server. After some research now I think that the main problem is that in imap connections users connect as 'username' while lmtp connections are as 'username at mailserver'. In my current setup I receive mail via

How to deal with mail to unknown virtual recipients?
Hello list, I am not quite sure whether this is a questions for Dovecot or Postfix. I have set up, virtual hosting for one domain (for test purposes) using a passwd-file as passdb and a static userdb (see dovecot -n at the end) along with Postfix in a manner described in [1], i.e. a non-Postfix mail store. Other than that I also do hosting for the canonical domain which is for users with a
