deliver + quota failure
I use Dovecot's deliver as the LDA for Postfix in a virtual user setting. My maillog reads: Oct 22 00:17:51 mail dovecot: auth(default): master in: USER 1 mark.ruys at in2sports.net service=deliver Oct 22 00:17:51 mail dovecot: auth-worker(default): sql(mark.ruys at in2sports.net): SELECT maildir AS home, 5000 AS uid, 5000 AS gid, CONCAT('dirsize:storage=', round(quota/1000))

Puppet Node Create?
Was... Bash$ puppet node create This "create" action no longer exists. Has it been depreciated? Is the only way to create a node through puppetmaser now? Apple cannot connect to RHLinux Samba
Hi All I have a working samba server on RH Linux 7.3 (samba v2.2.4). My shares and printers can be connected and used by my W95, W98 and XP clients - no problems there. However, my Apple (Powerbook G4 running OSX 10.1.4) cannot connect using the Connect To Server option: smb://10.0.1.200/data Or smb://alan@10.0.1.200/data The nmblookup -B MAC_MACHINE '*' command does not see the Apple

Only Netbeui on the client is it possible ?
HI all ! I've read in a doc, that Samba is talking only with the clients where Netbios over TCP/IP is running ! I guess it is true, but are there any solution maybe to connect with a client where only the NETBEUI is the only one installed protocol ? It would be from DOS, I have a DOS boot disk which is waking up the Netbeui, and it would be difficult to prepare it to wake up the TCP/IP !

Dovecot pgsqlauthentication database reconnection/failover problem
Hi, Our mail system uses dovecot-1.0-1.2.rc15.el5 in Centos-5.1 as our imap server. It connects to a pgsql database in another server as authentication backend. It works fine except occasionally fails to reconnect to the database after temporary network block, and dovecot has to be restarted to work again in such case. Since I can't find any specific setting in dovecot.conf to handle

allow_nets and deliver + userdb lookup
Hello! I'm trying to restrict imap logins to our internal network for several users, but this breaks dovecot delivery too Even if i set allow_nets to NULL or 0.0.0.0/0 deliver exits with "Error: Auth lookup returned failure" i'm running it as 'command = /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver -e -d "$local_part@$domain" -s' in exim.conf i guess delivery lookups should

Dovecot deliver with AD LDAP userdb [SOLVED]
> Then there's something different what Dovecot and ldapsearch does. They > have the same dn, dnpass, neither uses tls, same base, deref, scope? > I figured it out, there certainly is something different! The AuthDatabase/LDAP documentation on the Dovecot Wiki says "When connecting to AD, use port 3268". Port 3268 is used for Global Catalog searching. By default the Active

Wine without a Windows partition
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Is it possible to setup wine without a Windows partition? I have a Debian 2.2-r2 system and want to run a few Windows apps, mostly games, but don't want to go through all the bs of resizing a partition, creating a new one and putting Windows on my laptop. Any chance of being able to do it without a dedicated partition? - -- Darryl L. Pierce

Possible funny with /sbin/fsck
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Howdy - we have a bunch of dual processor Compaqs with 180GB RAID partitions for email, running with ext2 for the last year or so. I thought I'd try out ext3 (on our development machine :-) to see whether it was a practical proposition for this kind of thing yet. Appears to be working so far, with a

How can I enforce quotas on roaming user profiles using samba?
I am using a custom configuration of webmin from www.turnkeylinux.org to run a domain controller (basically Ubuntu Server 8.04/Hardy with Samba installed from the repositories). I've set things up so that my users have roaming profiles that they can use at any of the windows clients that are joined to the domain. I'd like to set a disk quota for each user that the windows client would

How to change dovecot's bounce message
Hi, I am using the quota plugin of dovecot. Dovecot is running as LDA for postfix. When the system is running into the quota limit, the bounce message reads as follows: > Your message was automatically rejected by Dovecot Mail Delivery Agent. > The following reason was given: > Quota exceeded Can I somehow change this message, to make it more userfriendly? Using an IBM 8227 Lan Entry Access Point
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi: I'm using Red Hat 7.0 and stock samba. I just bought an 8227 IBM Access point from eBay, and it says it needs a Lan Manager server supporting LLC to download the boot image. Can Linux and Samba be used to support this access point? If so, could someone point the way where I can find docs to configure this setup? Thank you. - -- Alfredo

Dovecot deliver with AD LDAP userdb
Good Afternoon, I have my virtual users stored in an Active Directory database. As far as mail info goes the 2 important fields are: mail (their primary email address) and otherMailbox (a multivalue attribute containing their mail aliases). Right now all email addresses belong in the same domain and there are no immediate plans to change this. If I use Postfix to do the lookups and delivery only

removing IMAP keywords?
Hi there, I found that with an IMAP command like <unique-leader> STORE 1 +FLAGS (testflag) I can set arbitrary flags on mails through the dovecot IMAP daemon. This rules. Now I wonder, however, how I can remove those flags, which become properties of the folder, really. For instance, after the above, SELECT on the containing folder gives: * FLAGS (\Answered \Flagged \Deleted \Seen

ssh-keygen: passphrase.
Looking at openSSH INSTALL: To generate a host key, run "make host-key". Alternately you can do so manually using the following commands: ssh-keygen -b 1024 -f /etc/ssh/ssh_host_key -N "" ssh-keygen -d -f /etc/ssh/ssh_host_dsa_key -N "" But when I try latter, I get: (gdb) n 1 0x35a6 in save_private_key_ssh2 ( filename=0xb2d2c

Solaris 2.6 problem
I was building OpenSSH on a Solaris 2.6 machine and found a small problem using scp after it was built. The scp command coming from a remote machine to the OpenSSH machine results in an error message of "sh: scp: not found". The start-up script for sshd sets PATH to include /usr/local/bin where scp resides. I also tried adding an "export PATH" in case that was the problem, but
