Bug#489172: logcheck: please add Auto-Submitted header field to mailouts
Package: logcheck
Version: 1.2.54
Severity: wishlist
Please add the header "Auto-Submitted: auto-generated" to mails
generated by logcheck. This header should be supported by many email
autoresponders and should prevent the need to set up logcheck specific
rules for "vacation"-type autoresponders.
Headers can be added in mail using the -a switch, e.g.
mail -a

Pigeonhole, vacation being sent incorrectly
Hi,
I have an issue with a vacation message in a sieve script. I can't see
an error in the script itself.
Pigeonhole version: 0.4.2-32
Dovecot Version: 2.2.10
The script was created by Ingo (part of the Horde suite), but I think
the script is fine. The problem is that when a message is sent to the
"everyone" group (and alias for every person in the organisation),

Vacation message functionality
Hi,
Since I will soon be attempting to get this working on one of my
client's systems, I posed a question on the postfix list - since they
mostly dislike vacation messages - but *ardent haters* of badly
configured vacation message systems - as to the quality of the dovecot
vacation message function. The only response I got did seem to have a
few very good suggestions for additional

SEGV with Dovecot v1.0.0 Deliver and cmusieve v1.0.1 and vacation
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hello,
I have a small Sieve script that tries to use vacation that segfaults.
The script is the one from http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Sieve.
When I change the email address (I changed the local part into "skai"),
hence, vacation is skipped, the mail is delivered without any problem.

Vacation -- reply to another address than envelope from
Vacation (Sieve) replies to the envelope address. However, I have a
customer which receive e-mails from a service which sends e-mails on
behalf of a user (submitted through a web form).
So an e-mail would be like (envelope from and from-header is
webformfromwhatever at foobar.com):

dovecot-1.2-sieve sending vacation replies regardless of recipient (patch)
I want a way to send VAR messages without having to specify up front all of the addresses for which such VARs should be sent.
I realize this goes against rfc 3834, but it seemed reasonable to add a tag to the vacation command to skip the [to, cc, bcc, ...] recipients check. The patch I made is attached. The new usage with this patch is:

dovecot-stable: NIL from in envelope request
Using the latest dovecot-stable (20050213) with pine, I get an empty
"from" header in my e-mails. This doesn't happen with 1.0.59-test, nor did it
happen with the first dovecot-stable (20050131). A partial connection log is

Problem with fts found against Dovecot hg; examples + trace attached
I've been wanting to try out Squat for full-text indexing for a while now, so I
finally gave it a whirl. I did a fresh pull from hg. I have it enabled, but
it's taking *forever* to do a query. (Using alpine, I issued a Select command
for all messages with some word anywhere, which presumably caused the Squat
indexer to run.) I think Dovecot is infinite looping.
I thought something

Bug#23903: samba: samba maps username before authenicating with NT password server
Hi,
I am the Debian GNU/Linux of the Samba package in this distribution.
Today I received this bug report but since I don't use the
authentication method this user mentions, I can't reproduce the
problem. I heard Jeremy Allison said something about a bug in 1.9.18p8
regarding user mappings and posted a patch but since the patch is
applied to the version of Samba this user is using, I am

I made other tests. It's not a matter of Win98 versus WinXP, things
change passing from tftpd32 v310beta to v3.33. This version seems to
work fine, but the logs show problems. Here is the complete log with
