Hello list, I am trying to set up a public mailbox for users to put spam in so that sa-learn can do its job at night. Only I can't seem to fully understand how and which permissions should be set. Hi We've been using dovecot successufly for few month. Previous setup : solaris 8, postfix+LDA, mbox + index on NFS (Netapp), 2500 accounts Everything shared overs NFS, multiple servers connect to index, mbox. mail_location = mbox:/var/mail/mbox/%u:INBOX=/var/mail/%u:INDEX=/var/mail/indexes_dovecot/%u We had at first some issue with mbox locking, using lock_method = dotlock solve the issue.

I tarred up my Maildir from one server and untarred it on another, I had hoped it would work, It partially does. It has all my messages but doesn't show the subdirectories in Thunderbird. Hi, K, Thanks for your feedback again! BTW, I tried to copy mail file from sent item folder which is default folder of Outlook 2013 to "Sent Messages" folder of Dovecot. I can see the mail files in this folder, but I don't see them under .Sent Messages folder like "new", "cur" and "tmp" folders. You have any idea where the mail files are copied??

Somehow in setting up quotas and sieve I somehow doubled my maildir. I noticed that when I logged into my webmail I didn't see the folders I created. I went to the actual location and noticed this. Koshiro, --- Now, I changed Outlook setting of imap and I can see Draft, Trash, Sent and Sent Messages folders and I can see the mail files in there. However, I don't see mail files in the "cur or new" folder where is under .Sent Messages folder. --- Maybe Outlook isn't going to upload all old pre-existing Sent (etc) messages to server just from your setting the right server
