Unexpected input from auth master: CUID
Hello, I'm using postfix(2.4.5) and dovecot(1.0.5), and till now I have been using postfix deliver agent. Now I have tried to reconfigure postfix to use the dovecot LDA, but I'm getting some strange error: Sep 9 18:07:57 hostname deliver(username at domain.tld): BUG: Unexpected input from auth master: CUID^I5 For IMAP and POP3 my configuration works fine. I have tried it also with

BUG: Unexpected input from auth master:
deliver logs the error in the subject whenever the userdb lookup fails. I had a query discrepancy between postfix and dovecot, so messages were accepted that shouldn't have been, but I figured deliver should probably handle that a bit more gracefully :)

auth_executable
Hi, i am new to dovecot and i don't know what i can do with the "auth_executable" setting in the "dovecot.conf" file. Can i invoke an external program for authentification? If yes, is there a description what this program/script has to do? Thanks Helmut

v1.0 vs 1.1b re: Postfix and Dovecot LDA
In running the various 1.0.n versions of Dovecot's LDA with the instructions in the wiki for using LDA with Postfix [on OS X 10.4] things went well using the instructions as-is (no setuid problems). This changed in moving over to the 1.1 beta. The LDA refused to work failing with the error "setgroups() failed: Operation not permitted" as I mentioned in a previous message.

Your results below make it look like a bug in optim(): it is not duplicating a value when it should, so changes to x affect xx as well. dovecot and imap session forwarding
Hi, I was trying to install a qmail-ldap cluster. I have successfully setup dovecot to authenticate against ldap directory. But what I need is to enable imap session forwarding for qmail-ldap. For example when a user connects to a imapserver if the real mailhost of this user is different than the one that is connected so session is forwarded to real mailhost. Normally we can do that with

Exim And Dovecot SASL
Hi all, I have been trying to get this to work a couple of ways, please take a look at the links below.http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/EximAndDovecotSASLhttp://rafb.net/p/ipHKjv10.htmlIt rejects every time but if I uncomment;auth_executable = /usr/lib/dovecot/dovecot-auth then thunderbird will ask me for a password but does not agree with me on it.I have dovecot set up to use the unix usernames and

R optim(method="L-BFGS-B"): unexpected behavior when working with parent environments
It looks as though this happens when calculating numerical gradients: x is reduced by eps, and fn is called; then x is increased by eps, and fn is called again. No check is made that x has other references after the first call to fn. I'll put together a patch if nobody else gets there first... That's consistent/not surprising if the problem lies in the numerical gradient calculation step ... rsync 2.5.5, "unexpected tag failures", Solaris 2.6 vs. 2.8, "--b locking-io" workaround
Hi, I have been having a problem that seems related to previously reported problems but persists. I am syncing from a 2.6 Solaris box to a 2.8 solaris box. All are running rsync 2.5.5. When I sync (commands simplified for example, always using rsh): 2.8box% rsync -e rsh 2.6box:/path/path/stuff/ /path/path/newstuff/ i.e., the 2.6 box is the server, I get spurious, persistent but inconsistent

Server settings for a busy server
Hi, We are migrating from a windows server and i have very few stats as to what our current concurrent usage stats are other than about 50,000 active users and 90,000 email messages a day inbound 20,000 outbound. Anyone got some tips for tuning dovecot to handle this load? Below is my config - do the values of login_process_size etc sound correct? Also my logs seem to be written out as root

2.2.26.0: Error: redis: Unexpected input (state=0): -ERR max number of clients reached
I use redis as quota backend (currently). After upgrading to 2.2.26.0 I see a ton of "Error: redis: Unexpected input (state=0): -ERR max number of clients reached" errors. It looks like either more Redis connections are being made, or Redis connections don't time out/are reused correctly anymore. No such errors were seen in 2.2.24. -- Tom

unexpected input in rpart
Hi all, I'm a newbee using R. I need to do a classification tree using the rpart package. I read my csv file and it shows up in R no problem, looks fine but when I execute the following rpart command
