Building Packages.
I have a source file with oxygen-style comments (and description & licence files), and I?m trying to build a package. oxygen & devtools seem to work, and the tarball exists, but install.packages balks. Does anyone know what?s happening?
Regards,
Jorgen Harmse.

Bug in tools::compactPDF() in 2.13-0-alpha
Dear List,
There seems to be an bug in compactPDF() or at least an inconsistency
with the documented behaviour.
The documentations states:
Details:
This by default makes use of ?qpdf?, available from <URL:
http://qpdf.sourceforge.net/>, including a Windows binary. If
?gs_cmd? is non-empty, GhostScript is used.
I don't have qpdf on my system so planned to use

Help with adding minutes to time
Dear R Helpers,
I need to read time from a .csv file which is formated as chartime
(09:12:00) below. I need to add one minute (cf chartime2).
Then I need to output the value just as 09:13 without the seconds for
writing a csv file and input in another program.
I get it with the following reproducible example but I can't help
thinking that there must a less clumsy way to do that !
Thanks

R CMD check --as-cran without qpdf
Today, a package that has an HTML vignette (but no PDF vignette) failed
R CMD check --as-cran on a system without qpdf. I think the warning
originates here [1], due to a premature check for the existence of qpdf
[2]. Setting R_QPDF=true (as in /bin/true) helped, but perhaps it's
possible to check qpdf existence only when it matters.
I have attached a patch (untested) that could serve as a

barplot(2?) with CI from a zero reference line
Dear R Users, (and dear Marc)
First of all many thanks for the answers to my previous questions.
I would like to barplot the mean percent change of a variate with it's
CI. Bars should start from the zero reference line to height (in
barplot2).
Is there a way to tweak barplot2, for example, to do that ?
I have tried to see what the function was but unlike other functions was
not able to

segments in 3d space
Hi all,
Is it possible to draw line segments in a 3d space plot?
I'm interested to draw the errors from an observed value to the
regression plane, for a textbook example in an Intro Stats handbook for
multiple regression.
I used the scatterplot3d package to draw the regression plane.
Many thanks,
Adrian

Estoy usando Mac OS X.
Muchas gracias,

missing values
Dear list members,
I'm relatively new to this list; can anyone tell me how to declare
missing values once a dataset has been attached?
For example here:
VAR1
1 1
2 2
3 1
4 3
5 2
6 1
7 3
8 3
9 1
10 2
11 98
12 2
13 97
14 99
15 NA
16 3
I would like values 97, 98 and 99 to be treated as missing values.

extract columns using their names
Hello,
Is there a way to extract multiple columns from a dataframe using their
names instead of their numbers?
Currently I use:
data2 <- data1[, c(1,3,9)]
And I am looking for something like
data2 <- data1[, c("XX","YY","ZZ")]
I use the same dataframe for many purposes, and I run codes that change
the order of the columns every time.
Many thanks,
Adrian

R Compilation gets stuck on Windows 64
Hi Avraham,
What a coincidence, I have been following this post of yours:
https://www.avrahamadler.com/2013/10/24/an-openblas-based-rblas-for-windows-64-step-by-step/
Looks like this post is slightly older than what you have shared
previously. It is strange that you did not get the attachments. I am

Layout, xyplot and saving in file
Dear all,
I am trying to use layout with xyplot and save the plot in a file.
The saved file contains only the last panel (used jpg, wmf and pdf
options in the savePlot function)
I am not familiar with the graphic file formats and don't know if they
can handle multipage output.
If not do I need to loop by ndose in the following script ?
Here is my script:
