Deliver core dump in b13 (hg 20080102)
Hi there
I'm redirecting e-mails from mikkel at euro123.dk to another account
(mikkel2 at euro123.dk) using sieves "redirect" with sieve 1.1.3. The e-mail
is redirected just fine.
But deliver still creates a core dump and returns an "e-mail
undeliverable" to the sending account (even though delivery is
successful).
My .dovecot.sieve contains just this:

Dovecot write activity (mostly 1.1.x)
I?m experiencing write activity that?s somewhat different from my previous
qmail/courier-imap/Maildir setup.
This more outspoken in v.1.1.x than v1.0.x (I?m using Maildir).
Write activity is about half that of read activity when measuring throughput.
But when measuring operations it?s about 5-7 times as high (measured with
zpool iostat on ZFS).
I think this might be due to the many small updates

Quota handling on NFS Maildir
Hi
Throughout the v. 1.1 betas I have been receiving casual reports that
quota isn't handled correctly (running Maildir).
At the moment I'm running 1.1beta14 but this has been occurring in all
other 1.1 betas as well (I don't know for sure whether this was also an
issue in 1.0, but I think so).
In some earlier betas the issue where worse than is is now (due to
improved NFS locking I

Sieve 1.1.2 -> special chars
I'm unable to use local chars in vacation/auto replies with sieve.
.dovecot.sieve.err gives the same error as when there's a parse error.
Example of error:
line 25: string '? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?.
':
My dovecot is v. 1.1b5 and sieve is v. 1.1.2.
This issue was also present with dovecot 1.0.x
Is there a way around this?

Compile error introduced in b13 (Solaris 10)
Any news on the b13 compile issue on Solaris 10 (both Sparc and X86)?
Would be nice to know whether it's our own headache or something thats not
supposed to be and thus expected to be fixed in the next release.
Just to be clear this didn't occur in any other release (I've compiled all
previous v1.1 betas on the same setup including b12).

Question about Tripp-Lite UPS life span
Hello,
Somewhat off-topic, but seeking some input from other tech folk on this list. I have a Tripp-Lite SMART 2200 (a white tower that looks similar to, but predates the black SMART2200NET) that just failed its monthly battery test so I bought new batteries and replaced the old ones. Sadly once put back together, plugged in and enabled it did not power up--no lights, sounds, smoke, etc. I took

Problem with bodystructure/partial fetch using 1.1*
Hi there
I'm using dovecot-1.1b2/b3 with deliver. All information is stored in an
SQL database and no errors related to this issue are written to the logs
(actually I get no errors at all).
I've run into at problem; FETCH BODYSTRUCTURE is broken after upgrading to
dovecot 1.1b2 (same issue with 1.1b3).
BODUSTRUCTURE only returns information from the first section (with

Has anyone had problems accessing random websites since going up to 6.4?
Since about the day after I got partly upgraded, if I try to access
nytimes.com, or orbitz.com, I get server not found.
With a lot of work, I, my manager, and the other admin, found that setting
options edns0 in /etc/resolv.conf fixed it - I suspect that the network
folks updated their internal nameservers (which are M$)

Keeping machines online
I am using centos 5.1. I want to keep my machines always powered on.
Some machines (important ones) are UPS'd.
I have also set in the BIOS (gigabyte motherboard) the power options
that after power loss should do a full on.
The other day we had just a momentary power drop.
the UPS machines had no issue of course with that.
However, the other machines did not come back on.
Is there anything

Random Intermittent Noise for SIP to FX0 calls plus echo
Dear group,
Was wondering if anyone out there has had the experience I have been
having. In reading recent posts on echo cancellation, I think there
is....
We recently cut over the Asterisk and are configured with 5 FXS and 2
FXO ports to the PSTN via 2 TDM400P's and 5 SIP phones on our local
network. I have set up echo cancellation with 800ms echo training. I do

scheduling R tasks under windows
I'm trying to schedule R tasks in Windows Server 2003.
I can run the following from the DOS prompt without
any difficulty:
c:\Reports>c:\r\rw2001\bin\rterm.exe --no-restore
--no-save <test.R> test.out
where test.r has two lines: library(tools);
Sweave("rlr.Rnw").
When I try to run the same from the task scheduler, I
fill in the dialogue box as follows:

Successful compile of Wine
I was able to compile and run Wine successfully this morning. I can now run
WELCOME.EXE, CALC.EXE & NOTEPAD.EXE where I am currently putting windows
(non-catalization intentional) programs in /c/windows.
I do have a coule of questions however. I get an error saying basically an
exported function needed from MSVCRT.DLL is not found, try using the native
one instead when running NOTEPAD.EXE

[LLVMdev] Web Server Restart
Dear All,
I'll be restarting the LLVM web server in 15 minutes (i.e., at 10 am
Central Time). During the restart, all web and SVN services will be
unavailable. Please don't commit to the SVN repository while the server
is down.
I'm adding a new virtual host configuration, so the restart should cause
only momentary loss of service.
I'll send email once services are back up.

UPS commands
Ok, so the reason I keep asking about this is in case I have to actually implement this in our UPS.
I meant that a human could power the UPS back on. Nearly all of the UPSes I have worked on have momentary power buttons (either toggle on/off, or a pair of on and off buttons).
So, when a power-off-stay-off comes through, then the UPS *itself* shuts down as well, and essentially goes into a

Unregistered ports on SPAxxxx
Hi all,
I've got a few devices, SPA112's and SPA8000's, that are giving me problems.
Each device has a separate SIP credential for each port, but sometimes, only a
few of the ports register.
So, the device will be running fine for a while, then suddenly one or more of
the ports will become Unreachable. These ports will stay unreachable until
the device is power cycled.

--backup leaves window where file doesn't exist.
When using --backup, the sequence (as monitored by strace) is:
   rename("/path/to/<file>", "<backup-dir>/<file><backup-suffix>")
   rename("/path/to/.<file>.xxxxxx", "/path/to/<file>")
This, of course, leaves a momentary window wherein <file> can't be found. Might
it be possible to replace the first rename()

wasted bits and audio drop-outs
I hear momentary audio drop-outs (silences) in some flacs I have encoded. These occur at the same time as "wasted bits" messages in my mplayer output.
[flac @ 0x860fb00]coding type: constant
[flac @ 0x860fb00]1 wasted bits
[flac @ 0x860fb00]coding type: constant
[flac @ 0x860fb00]6 wasted bits
Is there a way to prevent these at encode-time?
If this is not the appropriate list for
