Problem with installing/running domU OS on HVM machine
Hi, I have problem installing or running domU OS (Windows XP or Redhat 7.3). The machine runs CentOS 4.4 X86_64, Xen-3.0.3. Paravirtual domU works without problem. The problem is that when I run command "xm create <config>", nothing would happen. hvmloader does not seem get started at all. I''ve tried installing both 64bit and 32bit vnc, sdl but did not see any

RE: [PATCH][TOOLS] Reducing impact of domainsave/restore/dump on Dom0
Take 2... this version only adds code to discard the cache on Linux and uses the right name for the fadvise call. It''s a bit ugly - I basically just put #ifdef __linux__ around the fadvise calls - but I don''t have the ability to develop something suitable for Solaris... > Attached is a patch to unstable that stops save/restore/dump from > hosing > Dom0 when dealing

Dovecot lock problem
Hi, We have a few users experiencing locking problem. When starting Thunderbird, there is no new emails in Inbox. Dovecot createa a lock file /var/spool/mail/<user>.lock. Xen on Dell PowerEdge 1850 with Perc 4e/Si controller
Hello, I am having issues making my box boot with Xen. I am working with linux-2.6.16.28-xen on a gentoo box. The server is Dell PowerEdge 1850 with Perc 4e/Si, FW 521X. When dom0 reaches the point of scanning the SCSI controllers, it hangs in a loop aic7xxx_dev_reset_returns 0x2002. My regular (non-xen) kernels come up fine with detecting my adaptec scsi controller. Had anyone had the same

RE: Installing Redhat 7,3 with hvm
If anyone is still interested in this old thread, I have a rh7.3 image running under hvm. It''s a hack, but here''s what I did: Install rh7.3 in a vmware machine with vmware server. Booted off a live cd, ( I used a gentoo installer CD, but any live cd should work) Created a lvm volume on my Xen dom0 >From the liveCD, I use dd to copy the disk image to the lvm image (dd

[patch] speex AEC state save & restore
Hi, I implemented a small patch that allows the internal convergence state of the echo canceller to be saved in a file for later use, especially after a process restart or machine reboot. This enables immediate echo cancellation the second time the AEC is run. Of course this works only if the acoustic environment of the device doesn't change and if the soundcard latency is constant. CentOS 7 - xfs shrink & expand
I'll try that...I was using instructions I found on the internet for single-user/maintenance mode.?? From the grub screen you enter 'e' and modify the linux16 line...etc. Okay, I'll try that next. Thanks Simon! On 5/13/2020 7:28 AM, Simon Matter via CentOS wrote: > Hi, > >> Yeah, I tried that but ran into a problem.? It came up fine in >>

This wont quite work -- xc_private.c isn''t part of libxenguest which includes save/restore which needs the function...

CentOS 7 - xfs shrink & expand
Yeah, I tried that but ran into a problem.? It came up fine in single-user/maintenance mode. ? The mount command shows all of the mounted file systems, but after I 'chroot /sysroot', the mount failed (with some problem with mtab, sorry don't have the exact error message).? So I couldn't mount my 32TB RAID (where the xfsdump file was). On 5/13/2020 12:48 AM, Simon Matter via

mbox sync: UID inserted in the middle of mailbox...
Hi, We're getting a lot of errors like this: Mar 7 10:02:35 imapserver dovecot: imap(user1): mbox sync: UID inserted in the middle of mailbox /home/user1/mail/mail/INBOX.Trash (8 > 2, seq=2,idx_msgs=6) We have several hundred people using the server, and at least 22 have had this error in the past 24 hours. The numbers at the end change between each user, which I guess you'd

how to restore deleted directory/files
Hi, Thanks for your reply. The file system type is xfs. And I found xfsdump/xfsrestore can undo the remove. I use dd to copy the partition as one image file. How do I mount the image as read-only device? Then I can try to recover the deleted files/directory anytime. Thanks! Mails repopping
HI I don't know if this is a dovecot issue or a client one. But as Dovecot is the most recent change, I'll start here. I have a server that's been running Courier for about 6 years and in all that time I think I've only ever had 1 issues where an entire mail box was repopped by a webmail client. However, since moving to a new server and dovecot 4 weeks ago, I've now had the

Background R session on Unix and SIGINT
OK, I managed to create an example without callr, but it is still somewhat cumbersome. Anyway, here it is. Terminal 1: mkfifo fif R --no-readline --slave --no-save --no-restore < fif Terminal 2: cat > fif Sys.getpid() This will make Terminal 1 print the pid of the R process, so we can send a SIGINT: Terminal 3: kill -INT pid The R process is of course still running happily. Terminal 2

RE: Installing Redhat 7,3 with hvm
Not yet, but I don''t see any reason for it to work any differently. I simply used vmware because it was convenient. -Adam | -----Original Message----- | From: Simon Gao [mailto:gao@schrodinger.com] | Sent: Thursday, October 05, 2006 11:22 AM | To: Adam Crews -X (acrews - Xerox at Cisco) | Cc: xen-users@lists.xensource.com; Mike Freemon | Subject: Re: [Xen-users]

How to propelry restore a Maildir
Hello, I would like to know what is the proper way to restore a Maildir : Assuming someone has got a foobar/[cur|new|tmp] maildir, loses for some reason its content and that some new mail (seen and/or unseen) comes into that mailbox inbetween (that is before the restore procedure takes place, thus creating the need to merge restored messages and new ones). I'd like to check the following (I
