Support for Kmail maildir format
Has anyone looked into providing support in dovecot for Kmail folders? I would like to make my Kmail folders (on my main desktop system) available to my other systems (including over a VPN when I am travelling). Kmail is my main mail program and I have a lot of mail in a lot of folders, so I don't want to set up a separate IMAP service and move all the mail and folders. Kmail's use

KMail
Any hope of KMail (and Kontact) coming to CentOS-7? What exactly is the problem? KMail seems to work on other Linux OS's. -- Timothy Murphy gayleard /at/ eircom.net School of Mathematics, Trinity College, Dublin

Second user problems
I have dovecot (0.99.14 under FC4) set up and working beautifully for my mail, handing on to procmail, and handling many subfolders. Today I needed to set up a second user. I added his account in kmail and created a sub-folder, but no sent-mail, trash etc. were created. I have sent test messages and /var/log/maillog says they have been processed, but they are not arriving in his inbox.

Could not connect to host box.domain.tld
I have used fetchmail/procmail/postfix/dovecot/kmail for some time on my mail server, and have set this up on three or four machines in the past. I'm now setting up a new server and having problems. I've reached the thinking-in-circles stage, so need a prompt. The box in question is called borg2.lydgate.lan, and resides at 192.168.0.40. I can ping both borg2.lydgate.lan and

Dovecot and kmail IMAP resources
For some time now I have been trying to get IMAP resources working on KMail. I have followed the docs from kde, but they tell how to configure cyrus IMAP, so I've had to learn as I went along. After a lot of help from the postfix list I now have a working sasl. The ability of the user 'groupware' to log in with PLAIN has been checked in a telnet session. Everything in KMail has

OT-ish: GPG problem
I'm asking here because it is the best resource I know for knowledgeable people. The problem in question occurs on my Fedora 9 box and Fedora 10 netbook, while another person, Chris, has the problem on a Mandriva 2009 box. Whatever is causing it, that leads me to think that it's not distro-specific. Both of us are using kmail. Kgpg sees and lists all the keys on my keyring.

Creating a Roaming imap account
This (CentOS5.1) box is my new imap server. Using system-config-security-level I opened port 143 tcp, and mail is readable throughout the LAN. I want a Roaming account on my laptop so that I can read mail while away from home. I have set up the account in kmail, and I know that that part is correct, as it worked on my old, less-secured, imap server. However, I haven't been able so far

Which sasl?
I'm trying to set up imap resources in kmail, and from the logs it looks as though I have to set up sasldb. I've found some documentation, but it seems that I need to know whether I'm using sasl or sasl2. How can I tell? I seem to have several packages installed that are returned with I query yum, and both versions get mentions. Anne

Problems with KMail and signatures
Hello, For some reason KMail is all but coming to a stand still when I open messages with any kind of signature. So I goto the configuration page of KMail Security Crypo Back ends and I see nothing is checked off. So I hit rescan and get the error that is listed in the attachment. Anyone else having this issue? -- Regards Robert Smile... it increases your face value! Linux User

Need advice please
Hi All, I have a system running (home based) Centos latest fully patched, etc that is acting as quasi mail server dhcp and name server. My question deals with mail. This is how it is currently set up. Because I travel for work weeks on end, I have fetchmail on my mail server, set up to poll my isp and download all my mail from work and personal isp. In this way my mail queues at work and

Remote resources in kde-pim
For some time I have been using dovecot to serve imap mail on my LAN. Now I want to add my diary and addressbook in kde-pim. I have got the docs from the kde site, but they talk about cyrus, and I'm not able to translate some bits of the instructions into dovecot ones. For instance, "At cyrus level (in the PC that runs IMAP server cyrus, with cyrus tools), we first need to add

Convert "ragged" list to matrix
Hi, I have a list made up of character strings with each item a different length (each item is between 1and 6 strings long). Is there a way to convert a "ragged" list to a matrix such that each item is its own row? Here is a simple example: a=list(); a[[1]] = c("a", "b", "c"); a[[2]] = c("d", "e"); a[[3]] = c("f",

Evolution: always a 90-second delay
I'm trying to use Evolution on the latest CentOS 7. Whenever I try to receive or send mail, there's always a 90-second delay before the connection works. Since the delay is always exactly 90 seconds, I think I may be waiting for something to time out. Perhaps this is a clue. My address is user at example.com. I have to log in to pop.example.com or imap.example.com as user, not as user at

Dovecot, Squirrelmail and KMail
I just installed Dovecot and squirrelmail to read my email when I'm away from home. I subscribed to all the folders in my mail directory but I can't actually see any email. Is this a dovecot issue or a squirrelmail issue? I'm running KMail from KDE 3.1.2 and use Debian (Testing) on a Digital Alpha and installed both squirrelmail and dovecot using apt-get. I had to set
