Exactly! But i have to 'remember' all printer names and all printer<->driver
association.

I've coded some script in the past (eg, when i was using OpenLDAP and
samba in NT mode) that do something on the behalf of the users, ad i
was used to do a 'getent passwd' to have the list.

This morning I investigated this and yes, if you if you add a user to a
group and run 'id username' on a Unix domain member, the new group is
not shown. Interestingly it does

Printer desappeared... configuration and backup?
From my experience when driver associates or re-associates with printer, printer ?shared name? changes.
From a windows client perspective the printer disappears and needs reconnecting.
After re-associating check the shared name.

variable substitution
Hi all, now that I have solved drivers problem on shared printers I've
found a new problem regarding variable substitution on shared printers
"print command"... in smb.conf on the print command parameter section I
read:

but the print command receive the ip address with dots replaced with
underscore :? In effect in smb.conf
