feature request: rsync dereference symlinks on cmdline
This post
http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/153262/get-rsync-to-dereference-symlinked-dirs-presented-on-cmdline-like-find-h
explains most of what i want, but basically, looking for a find -H option to rsync.
Reason is so that I can hit a source (or target!) dir in rsync by making a nice
dir of symlink maps.
For eg openVZ names their containers with ID#s which isnt very condusive to

Multi-Tenant Parking
Has anyone managed to get multi-parking lot call parking working correctly? I've had several attempts at it, and never seem to be able to get it to go properly - (actually, at all):
I've most recently done this with 1.6.1.x, and now 1.6.2.x, with no luck in either case. What I've been "trying" is the following:

I've been struggling with DUNDi for a few days now and I can't seem to

Samba, pam, NIS and password changes
Hi
I have a customer who is having a problem with Samba password changes.
The samba server (server12) is set up as a PDC for a WIndows domain with
XP clients. Samba is Version 3.0.26a-SerNet-RedHat. OS is Centos 3.9.
There is also a separate mail server (server56) running FC6 which uses
NIS for user validation.
NIS server is running on server12.
Generally speaking, everything is working and

reshaping column items into rows per unique ID
Hi Allaisone,
I took a slightly different approach but you might find this either as or
more useful than your approach, or at least a start on the path to a
solution you need.
df1 <-
data.frame(CustId=c(1,1,1,2,3,3,4,4,4),DietType=c("a","c","b","f","a","j","c","c","f"),

Basics - help with models &controllers...
I have looked at many rails apps source code from the web and it seems
there is no best practice when designing the database schema and
models.
For example surely it is recommended to include your foreign keys and
constraints at the database level? Some people just rely on the
activerecord associations, and don''t bother even placing a field for the
foreign key in the tables?

Symlinked mailboxes and dovecot-uidlist.lock
I have a scenario where I have two users, one account (user1) with it's
own Maildir account, and another account (user2) (which I wish to see
the same messages) with a symlinked Maildir to user1's Maildir.? I.E.:
/home/user1/Maildir
/home/user2/Maildir (where this Maildir is symlinked to /home/user1/Maildir)
Both users are in a group together (usergroup), and so all of the

Sharing Folders - or views?
Hi All
Running Dovecot v1.0.3 on FC 6.
We have a Dovecot account which contains folders used by all staff.
Think of the account as "Customers" and the folders as "Customer-1",
"Customer-2", "Customer-3" and so on.
We currently have around 650 of these customer folders.
The problem is that there are currently 12 members of staff who need to

We don't consider it as "very early beta". We consider it production ready. It is bit more work to set up though.

Yes, but the bottom line is that Squat does the job needed for end
users, Solr does not

FWIW, Squat has been deprecated since 2.0, so none of this should come as a surprise.

Thanks for mySql
For Squat vs Solr, Solr does not reach Squat by very far in terms of
results : If I setup Solr, and search (via the search in Roundbube or
Evolution) for a keyword or part of the keyword, the results are
complete non sense. The diference between "search in full body" and
"search in fields" does not even work.
Solr with Dovecot seems very early beta

Index and Thunderbird
Hi,
Whitbox Linux 3 (RHEL)
Dovecot 1.0.rc29
Using NFS
From time to time does all mail get re-downloaded to Thunderbird. I
would believe this has something to do with an index problem. I upgraded
to 1.0 a few months ago but that didn't work well so I installed version
1.0.rc29 which worked better but we still get this problem from time to
time. DOes anyone know if it is a good idea to
