Problems with iproute2
I''m using Debian (sarge)
I do now have 2 ISP, one DSL and one cabel.
I want to use the DSL as my primary and only use the cabel-modem if the DSL
fails.
The setup is:
IP1 -> Router -> NAT_IP1 -> eth0 -> eth2 (LAN)
IP2 -> Cable-Modem -> eth1 -> eth2 (LAN)
I wrote the following in my /etc/iproute2/rt_tables
ip rule add from NAT_IP1 lookup 1

pxelinux bug's
Hello Peter,
The attached patch contains three small (although 2 of them are
fundamental :) fixes for pxelinux
1. Alignment error when more than one initramfs are loaded using initrd
- the alignment of the last disk is discarded in calculations but is
ALWAYS present when the loading procedure is called. As a result - the
second image (cpio) is not recognized.

Please forgive is this has been posted, but without a good search

Have a home network - two laptops XP PRO, one Linux RH 7.3 and one NT

New Printing Howto collection is soooo good!!! (I learn a lot from theory)
Hi, I must say that i admire very much the printing documentation written by
one of your samba team. I wish
every documentations is like this! -- It explains to a newbie like me what
I need to know. It is amazing: i read
it and in my head a few questions start to go round. I read 1 page more and
the questions are answered. It is not
good that the other documentation pages of the howto

it needs the real link bandwidth, average

WINE and USB access
Hi All,
I am working with a local middle school to replace Windows PCs with Linux PCs.
I am new to this list but have been trying to use WINE for a while.
We have a major problem that we can't seem to figure out.
We are trying to use WINE with a software called Data Studio from Pasco Scientific ref: http://www.pasco.com/datastudio/home.html .
Pasco makes a scientific data probe, the Pasport

smbfs makes other processes hang
Hi!
I have some problem with samba. The problem concerns the smbfs kernel module and smbmount. Smbfs makes other processes "hang". The only thing to do is to reboot the computer, not even "Kill -9" works.
I use a Linux system with the Redhat 7.2 distribution. It runs on a AMD 500 K6-2 processor with a memory of 192MB. The kernel is an unmodified 2.4.9-31 from Redhat. I have

ping of 192.168.0.6 succeeded
ping of 192.168.0.9 succeeded

British Voice talent records Asterisk prompts
Hi folks,
I have British comedienne, Alison Keenan (another Alison!) coming in on
Saturday afternoon to record the Asterisk prompts for me. Alison speaks
with a "posh boarding school" accent. Finally we'll have a free British
English female voice bank.
As I have her in my studio (yeah right; it's a cupboard under the
stairs) does anyone need anything doing? She's charging a

3.52-pre3 vmware 'dopathc'
Hello,
I'm check Your version of patch in syslinux-3.52-pre3.
Memory (for multidisk) and 'empty line' work correctly, but
VMware check (if enabled :) - not.
Nasm use 'reverse' byte order in 'xxx'-constant :).
With attached patch all work correctly (checked in VMware v6).
Best regards,

Suddenly can't print: "rec_read bad magic..."
Suddenly, today, my wife's Windows 95 machine can't print to the
network printer on my Linux machine. It complains that "there was an
error printing to \\posh\lp ... There was a problem printing to the
port."
The error 1st occurred (coincidentally?) after I had upgraded the
kernel from 2.4.18 to 2.4.19. But rebooting to 2.4.18 has made no
difference.
