Calling dovecot deliver from procmail
I came up with this trick
That is
Since my previous mail server had a bunch of complex procmail recipies
and I am not sure that I can turn them into sieve scripts
I am calling dovecot deliver to drop mail in it's final $DEFAULT
destination.

in order to update the index, control files etc upon delivery time.
So far in my "tests" it works.

Xen on OpenSSI?
Any thoughts on running Xen on OpenSSI? We have an app we''d like to
cluster but is expressly and completely incompatible with the OSes that
OpenSSI are supported on, but if we can run several Xen domains on a
cluster we can run those OSes and, naturally, that app.
Thoughts?

mountpoint permissions changing by themselves
Hi,
We've been using an AFR configuration of gluster where there are a few
gluster servers and many gluster clients. We've noticed that recently,
the permissions on the mount point from the client's perspective
occasionally change to 444. There's no evidence of sudo or chmod
activity in system logs, and cron.d, cron.daily, logrotate.d all come
up clean as well, which is

pidgin-sipe on Centos-6/64
Hi!
Wondering if anyone here has been able to get the (3-rd party) SIPE
plugin (pidgin-sipe) working on Centos-6 with the C6 version of pidgin?
I've just started looking at it and after a little messing around have
no joy. Before I waste more time on it I thought I'd ask.
what I've done so far:
--download the latest binary from the Suse build service, allegedly one built
for EL-5.

Balsa problem
Wondering if anyone here has built Balsa for Centos-7.
I've used it on Centos 5 and 6 for years, though I had to compile
it myself.
It compiles cleanly on c7, but when run I keep getting error messages
that say "Failure to sync mailbox xxxx" that seem to happen when I try
to view a mailbox that has new/unread mail, or perhaps it happens when
a mailbox receives new mail whilei Balsa

VMware not correctly configured for running kernel
Something happened over the weekend power-related on my VMware test
server, and when I came back and restarted my VMware server box
(running CentOS), I got the following message:
"VMware Server is installed, but it has not been (correctly) configured
for the running kernel. To (re-)configure it, invoke the
following command: /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl."
I ran that .pl script, answered

OH NO, Something has gone wrong!
Hi all!
I'm setting up C7-64 as a VM using VirtualBox, on a Windows host.
as soon as I install the vbox Guest Extensions and reboot, when I log
in next time I get a white screen with a frowny face that says "Oh No,
Something has gone wrong!" and then "A problem has occurred, and the
system can't recover, please log out and try again."
Sounds like a VirtualBox problem

Is it a 60 cycle hum? If so, it's probably induced by poor grounding.

MATE power save and dpms
So, I am using MATE from EPEL as my desktop on one of my laptops.
The screen saver was working, however the monitors (if connected via a
docking station) were not going to sleep even if selected via the GUI
mate power manager.
I then discovered that dpms has to be initialized via the command line
before it becomes available, regardless of the GUI mate power manager
setting.
