1.0.13: mail_extra_groups alternative syntax?
"Warning: mail_extra_groups setting was often used insecurely so it is now deprecated, use mail_access_groups or mail_privileged_group instead" I use the following: mail_extra_groups = mail nogroup Because I have the real and virtual accounts. What's the correct way to replace the above line? It seems that mail_privileged_group only accepts one group, but I need two. Any

FYI re: "FreeBSD ECE flag ipfw protection bypass"
Several people have noticed that SecuriTeam.com is reporting a "FreeBSD ECE flag ipfw protection bypass" exploit. In an effort to save time, let me say this publicly: SecuriTeam.com is three years out of date. This problem was fixed in FreeBSD 3.5-STABLE and 4.2-STABLE in January 2001, and reported in Security Advisory FreeBSD-SA-01:08. Colin Percival

How can I bypass caching for some users
I have action caching setup for several actions of an application but I want the caching to only run for my administrators and have all other users see non-cached pages. Is there a way to do this? Perhaps something like passing a block to caches_action or setting some sort of flag in my authentication method? If this is not possible with action or fragment caching does anyone know of a

[asterisk-user] MeetMe feature request: bypass pincode
First off, not a dev question, redirecting to -user. On Sun, 19 Jul 2009, Emrah wrote: > Would it be possible to imagine an option that avoids the need of > entering the pin code of a conference room? Unless I'm misunderstanding you, just create the meetme without requiring a pin. See: [core] show application meetme or whatever random order of words makes sense to your version

Bypass USB to Xen VM
Hi. I'm trying to bypass an USB device from the host to a paravirtualized Xen VM. I found this page: http://libvirt.org/formatdomain.html#elementsUSB which says how to bypass usb and pci devices to guests. It says that works on KVM only, but is that notice about PCI or about ALL? Anyway I tried both from virt-manager and from virsh edit domain by adding the following: <hostdev

Dial command to connect two channels and bypass asterisk server
Hi I was wondering if its possible to make Dial command bridge two channels and after bridging bypass asterisk, so that the voice doesn't need to pass through my asterisk server. For e.g., I have a user dialed in and he verifies himself and then dials an international extension, after the call connects I don't want the call to pass through asterisk server anymore. Is there any command

Q; Recording when a bypass phone is used
The answer is probably no, but I have a bypass PSTN phone ahead of my Asterisk 1.6 box. I noticed when a call is answered on this bypass phone, the 'record' option still partially operates on Asterisk, but stops after the ring detection goes low. Is it possible to have Asterisk record when a DAHDI channel is detected in the off hook state, even if this is outside of Asterisk?
