Folder Aliases - Revisited Yet Again
I just did a search through my archives - seems this topic has been
requested a few times since my posting two years ago. I asked about a
specific implementation - which Mr. Sirainen never commented on. He was
probably focused on something more important at the time - like a paying
job. So I'll ask again...

OT: IMAP folder aliases
It seems that there is no standard for folder names that deal with typical
message classes such as drafts, outbox, sent, spam etc. At least there's no
common sense on a naming convention that tells how client should handle this.
Worse than this, most IMAP clients auto-create folders according to their own
naming convention if they don't exist. Every client introduces its own view.

[LLVMdev] Information about aliases in llvm-nm, and aliases ignored in llvm-extract.
I was wondering if there would be any objection to adding a flag to llvm-nm to either mark a symbol in a special way if it is an alias (suggestions welcome), or a flag to skip aliases completely. This could be a hidden flag if it is something we don't want to expose.
I would also like to change llvm-extract (ExtractGV) to eliminate any aliases that do not have a matching aliasee for the

ActiveRecord allows un-synced aliases?
q1 = Question.find(1)
q2 = Question.find(1)
Now, we find q1.__id__ != q2.__id__.
It appears the two aliases are not kept in sync:
q1.name => ''old name''
q2.name = ''new name''
q2.save!
q1.name => ''old name''
q2.name => ''new name''

Aliases not working in a subclass ?
When you use alias in a definition or class ie. Access alias fom within the same enclosing scope you created the object that provieds the alias in it wors fine. I use alias in that exact case frequently eg. For requirements/subscribes etc.

is round-robin on interface aliases possible?
Hello, I''m new to the list and iproute2 itself. I was searching for a
way to simultaneously use several IPs on the *same network interface*
for outbound traffic. Let me explain: I have eth0 interface to which I
set 2 IP addresses; 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2. Then I want to connect
to Internet through 192.168.0.254 gateway using round-robin between
those 2 addresses. The iproute2

font aliases
Hello,
A program I use with wine needs a font that is not installed, "Comic
Sans MS". I don't want to install that font, instead I want to make an
alias for that font by modifying the file ".wine/config", but I hadn't
figured it how, yet.
I want to mention that I've read the section "Dealing with Fonts" from
"Wine User Guide", but it didn't

IP aliases of CentOS Guests not accessible running 2.6.18-164.el5xen
Hi all,
First of all I am posting this on two lists for a reason, because the
issue being reported by me could be because of a change delivered by a
Kernel update or due to Xen.
I have recently managed to update all Xen Guest domains running CentOS
5.3 to the latest bunch of updates + Kernel. My Xen host also runs the
same CentOS 5.3 updated to all recent packages.

Parameter alias failed: Munging failed for value "winning" in class alias: Cannot add aliases without a catalog
I''ve tested this functionality in both 2.6.8 and the latest 2.7.0 RC.
As far as I can tell, the TransBucket looks good but fails on
#to_catalog due to an alias.

problem with netbios aliases (nmbd restart solves it)
Hi,
I'm running samba 2.0.5a under Solaris 2.7 and am seeing a problem
where the netbios alias for our print server sometimes becomes
unavailable. It is still visible in Network Neighbourhood, but
double-clicking comes back with "<blah> could not be found on the
network". However, I can connect to the machine OK, by
double-clicking on its real name, rather than its alias.

Problem with netbios aliases and security 'domain'
Hi!
I have the problem that a host can not with the 'netbios name' and the
'alias' in a domain.
Under samba 2.x it can be done without any problem.
My samba version is: 3.2.7
Netbios name: u10
Netbios aliases: u2
Host has only one IP. Security is 'domain'.
When I type: # net rpc join MEMBER -U Administrator -n u10
I can join the domain. Access to u10 is successful.

netbios aliases question (retry)
I didn't get any responses, can anyone at least tell me if this should
or should not work?
Samba 3.0.2a, two servers, each with a netbios name that matches their
hostname. The idea was to have two servers live all the time, with the
same printer drivers installed, and we could have the clients hitting
one or the other via a netbios alias.
I set up the netbios alias in smb.conf and dns

Arel table aliases and ActiveRecord::Relation help: how to specify "multiple has_many items in a query"
What is the recommended way to use table aliases with
ActiveRecord::Relation these days?
In prior versions of Rails, this would work:
assume (pseudo code):
model A
has_many b''s
model B
,,,
at = B.arel_table
atalias = at.alias(at.name + "_1")
A.join(:b).join(atalias).where(atalias[:a_id].eq(at[:a_id]).where("b.widget

dovecot LDA 'deliver' and aliases
Dovecot LDA (deliver) aliases question.
I have a multiple virtual domain setup using sendmail, username/domain, password, home directory all stored in mysql,Set-UID/GID for dovecot 'deliver' setup as referenced in Dovecot LDA wiki. Delivery, and POP/IMAP work just fine, serving a mail store in /home/vmail/domain/username type of setup.
My problem comes from what may be a

eth aliases and xen
Say, I''ve found a fairly reproducible error:
If you have ethernet aliases, when you first start xend (I
use /etc/init.d/xend start) your brige fails to initialize properly.
However on the exact same build/hardware/server removing the aliases
produced a solid server for both domain0 and domain1
I tried to fix the bridge with "brctl addif xen-br0 eth0" and that would
work, but
