Authenticating a user on domain member
Hi I have a Samba AD-DC (on ubuntu) and I've created a user on it the DC called nileadmin. On the DC, 'pdbedit -w nileadmin' finds the entry and returns nileadmin:4294967295:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:6590718693B2E602D30F67B848E08AE9:[U ]:LCT-678A9897: I've joined a member (also a ubuntu host running samba) to the domain. The join is successful. But when I run the

Windows 11 24H2, Samba 4.21.3 AD DC and domain users cannot log in
It is quite possible, that NT_STATUS_TIME_DIFFERENCE_AT_DC is some kind of red herring. I found thread from July, where it was suggested, that "Samba seems to return it as an error code as a backstop". I did add log level = 10 with custom IP based filename to get additional logs. But it seems, that with log level = 1 auth_audit:5@/var/log/samba/auth_audit.log in main config... auth

intermittent pam_winbind authentication failure
Hi, We've been having an intermittent issue with pam_winbind on Ubuntu 24.04. The test case we have to demonstrate this is to run this loop after logging in as a domain user: $ while sleep 1 ; do sudo -k ; sudo -K ; date ; echo "password" | sudo -S /bin/echo "sudo success" || break ; done The loop will run successfully, sometimes for 50+ iterations but eventually [sudo]

Asterisk@Home, AMP, and Broadvoice
Egad, not again with Broadvoice! Anyhow, I recently installed AAH and configured my TDM11B and got that and some SIP phones working. I still have some issues to work out, etc, but my current problem is Broadvoice. I have checked out all of the online resources, including the recent list exchange about the recent changes made by Broadvoice. However, the one thing I have found to be consitent in

Help: CallerID Name not being sent on outbound PRI trunk
Outbound calls on my Telus PRI aren't taking the Name portion of the callerID. I've looked at the logs, and it is being set (see below), but the PRI debug output doesn't show the name being sent anywhere. As a result, received calls always display from Unknown (or just the number). Is there some config that I've missed somewhere? I'm running NI-1 (Telus says NI-2 doesn't
