Bind_DLZ krb errors @ startup.
Hi, I have 2 self compiled samba 4 DCs running 4.7.7 on Centos 7.5. One of them is operating normally. On the other DC bind will not start. I turned up debugging on dlz_bind as per https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/BIND9_DLZ_DNS_Back_End#Debugging_the_BIND9_DLZ_Module When I try to start named I get the following in the logs: May 10 13:19:44 vdc2 named[23773]: starting BIND

log time formats - where is this defined
One of my servers is using ISO datetime formats (2011-02-27T15:22:15.519857-05:00) in the logs the rest use the default redhat/CentOS format (Feb 27 15:10:21). After a couple of hours searching google I cannot find where this is defined. I know I changed it some months ago as an experiment but forgotten where this was done. the ISO format breaks logwatch - thus I need to revert. TIA

Bind_DLZ krb errors @ startup.
I"m seeing this as well, after I updated my CentOS 7 hosts to the latest release. Something seems to have broken! Debian11 Samba backport and bind9
Hi Stefan, I have exact that running: Samba 4.17.4 and bind 9.18 from the bullseye-backports. I my case "samba_dnsupdate --verbose --all-names" runs without any errors. As like 9.16 I use the "dlz_bind9_18.so" entry in named.conf. If you need further information to compare just ask. As soon as I upgrade to latest bind, it wont start.? Now the first step is to figure out which mailing list to talk to ?syslog: Apr 30 07:43:02 nc1

Domain trust between Samba 3.5.9 and Windows 2008 Active Directory crashes lsass.exe which makes AD Domain Controller reboot
Hi Trying to set up a one way trust between a 2008 Active Directory domain and a Samba 3.5.9 server which is configured as a PDC. There is already an existing trust between AD and an NT4 domain so AD has been configured to support NTLM authentication (see below for full details). With no domain trust, using smbclient either anonymously or with a valid user on the DC (e.g. Administrator)

On Debian 12: nsupdate (as called from samba_dnsupdate) crashes named/bind9_dlz
Hello, I am testing Samba (v.4.17.8) in Debian 12 ("Bookworm") for use on two DCs (as separate VMs) in a new AD domain. "dc33" (IP: 10.150.10.33) is the first DC in the new domain ("ttwo.ad.example.org"), provisioned via 'samba-tool domain provision DC'. "dc34" (IP: 10.150.10.34) is the second DC, joined to the domain via 'samba-tool domain
