Cycle/Partials issue
First off, I''m fairly new to ruby on rails so this may appear simple but
I''m just learning the ropes :)
So I have a simple blog app where a post has many comments. The ''show''
view for posts renders a partial for each comment the post has. The css
class of the containing div element is cycled using cycle(). The partial
code is,
<% div_for(comment, :class

Has markaby been abandoned?
Recently discovered Markaby. Before I use it on a production system, I''d
like to know if it is still being maintained? According to the change log,
the last change was in February of 2006. Does this mean that the project has
been abandoned? Or, at version 0.3 it was considered production stable and
complete?

[Markaby] select with acts_as_dropdown problem.
I''m using Markby to convert a standard form witth selects. Can someone tell
me why this works:
<tr>
<td><label class="formLabel" for="task_owner_id">Owner</label></td>
<td><%= select ''task'', ''owner_id'', Owner.to_dropdown %></td>

Dynamic form? Not really!
Hi guru''s out there,
Im happilly coding my first rails app, and all goes well. I find myself
manually coding in a particular field all the time (company_id), that relates
the contact to a company. The total coding of this form seems somewhat much.
Could somebody tell me what Rails power I''m possibly missing and stuborn as I
am trying to do myself?
I was wondering if the

[MARKABY] Multiline text?
Anybody know if it''s possible to have multiline text in Markaby without
resorting to a bunch of text statements or putting the text block in
another file and using render :file ? I need to add chunks of HTMLized
javascript to my templates.

[Markaby] yield instead of @content_for_layout?
We''re supposed to use yield instead of @content_for_layout, but I can''t
get yield to work in a Markaby template:
yield
text yield
Either one of these lines results in a ''no block given'' error (but ''text
@content_for_layout'' works). Anybody know how to use yield instead?
Thanks,
Joe

Calculating First Occurance by a factor
I'm having difficulty finding a solution to my problem that without using a
for loop. For the amount of data I (will) have, the for loop will probably
be too slow. I tried searching around before posting and couldn't find
anything, hopefully it's not embarrassingly easy.
Consider the data.frame, Data, below

Updateform with a has_many relationship ?
Hello all,
I would like to be able to update the "amount" of a certain item in
me order list.
The problem I run into is how to define the text_field element.
@order is the current order, which has_many :order_item which in turn
belongs_to :order.
order_item has a field "amount" which should be modified...
What I tried is this below, but I get a undefined method

[OT] Markaby trunk and Rails ivars
Can someone explain the new Markaby syntax to me? I''m using Markaby
as a Rails plugin, fetched from the trunk.
I''m losing my instance variables somehow (@thing is always nil):
class ThingsController < ApplicationController
def index
@thing = "Bacon of the chunky variety"
end
end
# app/views/index.mab
h1 { "You should see a thing here:" }

RNG Cycle and Duplication
Hello all,
I am generating large samples of random numbers. The RNG help page says:
"All the supplied uniform generators return 32-bit integer values that are
converted to doubles, so they take at most 2^32 distinct values and long
runs will return duplicated values." But I find that the cycles are not
the same as the 32-bit integer.
My test indicated that the cycles for

[markaby] Trouble accessing session values.
Evaluating session variables inside a markaby paragraph tag always returns
false. For example
welcome.mab

displays:

How can I access session variables in maraby?

Markaby Installation Issues
Ok,
So I followed the directions.. I did a ''gem install markaby'' (which sounds
like its enough to get me going for rails), but I wasn''t sure, so I tried to
install the plugin as well.
Plugin installation fails looking for a file:
Script/plugin install http://code.whytheluckystiff.net/svn/markaby/trunk
Outputs this error:

[markaby] <tr>s really can''t have ids?
trying to reduce the extent to which the plugins i use have been modified, to ease deployment issues...( should probably learn SVK - somehow i think my hacks to allow geocoding in cartographer (before google supported it officially), add id''s to table stuff in markaby, or make acts_as_authenticated work with drupal userbases wouldn''t be useful patches for other people)

[LLVMdev] extra one cycle of getOperandLatency
Hi llvm-dev,
I wonder why there is an extra cycle for getOperandLatency.
It doesn't seem intuitive.
UseCycle = DefCycle - UseCycle + 1;
When I read the comments in TargetItinerary.td, it said
OperandCycles are optional "cycle counts". They specify the cycle after
instruction issue the values which correspond to specific operand indices
are defined or read.
I thought if

Accessing vars within helpers in Markaby
I''ve been trying to figure out how to do this:
select_tag ''site_id'',
@helpers.options_from_collection_for_select(Site.find(:all,
:order=>''name''), ''id'', ''name'', @site_id)
The select_tag gets output fine, but the default value
isn''t set. @site_id is set in the controller (@site_id
= cookies[:site_id]). In

Best Way to Write Helpers Using Markaby?
Hey there Merbers,
I''m a Merb neophyte checking it out with a simple app exploration
after being inspired by Mr. Katz''s presentation @ JQueryCamp and with
the desire to use Markaby if at all possible (I heart camping). I''ve
done a little exploration of how to use Markaby in helper code, but
any guidance would definitely be appreciated (I definitely do not

form_for not working with Markaby
I''m playing around with Markaby and I decided to write a little blog app.
I''m running into issues with forms however. If I use form_for the output of
the form gets swallowed. For example:
form_for :article, @article do |f|
f.text_field :title
f.check_box :published
f.text_area :description
f.text_field :pub_date
f.text_area :content
end
gets rendered as an empty form

Can I reset the cycle helper?
Hi:
I have lines in a table I wish to stripe BUT, every now and then
there is another type of line, a section header line. I''d like to be
able to start the line after a section heading always as one of the
two classes the cycle helper is cycling between. Is it possible? If
so, how?

Dear helpers
Is it possible to plot with a desired character? For example "tr" for training error and "te" for test error.
I tried

but only appears "t" in the plot
