Boolean circles..
Hi, This is just kindof a RoR question, but since you all potentially do the same things as I do, I thought I''ll ask here.. Im trying to use the boolean type in the database. Migrations is no problem, it even converts the 0/1 values from my import CSV to false and true. However, I cannot make the :conditions part of a find work: Loading development environment (Rails 2.0.2) >> c

Multi-parameter assignment
Hi, I''m trying to submit data from text boxes on a form to one variable in my controller, in the same way that datetime_select has date(1i), date(2i), etc for day, month, year, etc... I''ve named my variables event[start_date(1i)] event[start_date(2i)] and event[start_date(3i)] but this doesn''t seem to work and event[:start_date] is blank ... any pointers would be

I also have a bunch of HTML in folders in the application''s public directory. Before a user can view anything in the public directory, I''d like to authenticate them. How could I do that? I''m using mongrel, if it matters. Thanks, Joe

How to retrieve attributes from HABTM?
We have tables Users and Communities linked by has_an_belongs_to_many. The join table Communities_Users has additional fields [ is_active, is_blocked, join_date] etc. These are populated using @user.push_with_attributes(:is_active => true,...). Later on how do we update or retrieve the attributes in the link table for a given user or a community with doing it explicitly using SQL? Thanks,

Small Date Formatting Question regarding datetime_select()

I need to make a input field that works exactly like the reminders datetime selecton dropdowns in Backpack to populate a datetime field in my DB. i.e in the format: month, day, year ? hour (1-12) minute am/pm. Should I change my database to have a separate column for date and one for time and use date_select()? Can

specifying m/d/y order in datetime_select
the date_select form helper has a neat little feature which lets you specify the order of the month/day/year that is displayed on the form via the :order parameter. i.e. <%= date_select ''blah'', ''somedate'', :order=>[ :month, :day, :year ] %> however, i don''t see a similar option for datetime_select. passing an :order parameter is happily

1 error(s) on assignment of multiparameter attributes - Very Strange
Hello... Well, I post this one without too much hope that someone will be able to give me an answer, because it is strange. I have a time select field, the field on the database is of type time only. When creating a document, as long as the time is not greater than 14:00, then it saves as 00:00, but if the time is greater than 14:00 and less than 22:00 then it throws this error: 1 error(s) on
