Regarding freedesktop.org and Compiz
We were a little imprecise in our original announcement with regards to moving away from freedesktop.org, which seems to have caused some confusion. We are only moving away from the freedesktop.org infrastructure. NOT the standards. By moving away from freedesktop.org, we are: - Shutting down bug-submission on bugs.freedesktop.org. We will be using bugs.opencompositing.org which will soon be

compiz-scheme. Interactive prompt and example startup file.
Beyond the general work on compiz-scheme (new wrappings, hooks, code improvements, etc), I've added a few large new things: 1. Key bindings with modifiers. This lets you from any of your scheme files/interactive prompt bind an arbitrary key + modifier to an arbitrary scheme function. So you can define new Compiz behaviors and shortcuts on the fly. 2. An interactive prompt. This sets up a

Unifying mailing lists and bug trackers
Excuse the cross posting, but it underlines the entire point quite nicely. After the merge of Compiz and Beryl, we've still got two projects. That in itself isn't a huge problem, but it's a bit problematic with regards to mail (what list to choose?) and bug trackers. Since we get very little traffic on these e-mail lists, I suggest we shut down the dev@ list at

unkillable imap process(es) with high CPU-usage
Hello, I am having a problem with my dovecot-daemon. It is forking one or more (I saw up to perhaps 8 of them) imap processes under my user name. These processes are consuming a lot of CPU time and are not killable: > PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND > 8616 arno 20 0 2900 1600 1204 R 98 0.2 1196:38 imap Stopping dovecot does not quit these

Zoom plugin changes
I'm sorry for being rude, but I am quite upset by this, because it has gone too far. I posted a few weeks ago that I was going to be working on zoom over the summer to improve the accessibility, and I have already begun to do that. Every step of the way I have made frequent commits to opencompositing.org and described the progress in my blog. I asked for information about what your (David)

EZoom and system freeze
Hi I used the enhanced zoom functionality quite often. However, recently I have run into a somewhat annoying bug (I suppose it's a bug somewhere). If I zoom out to the level of no zoom using the mouse wheel, my system sort of hangs. I can move the pointer, but there's no interaction with anything (i.e. the mouse pointer does not change) and my only option is to turn of my laptop by

Dissappearing gnome terminal contents
Hi. I was not able to find any notice of this issue in either the forums or bugzilla (http://bugs.opencompositing.org/) (is that still used btw) so I am posting it here in the hope that it is useful to someone. I am using gentoo and gnome 2.20 and the compiz version from git sources. When I maximize (vertically, horizontally, both) a gnome-terminal window the contents of the terminal window

Problems with _NET_WM_FULLSCREEN_MONITORS and screen refreshing
re, all... I tried to create an account on bugs.opencompositing.org to report this, but I never got an e-mail back from the account-creation process. Is this the right URI to be reporting bugs for Compiz? Anyway, I've found a couple of bugs that affect applications that use the _NET_WM_FULLSCREEN_MONITORS EWMH hint. I believe these are regressions since Compiz 0.8.0, but am not 100% sure.

More clear CCSM messages
Hello, Would it be possible to have someone knowledgeable about the inner working of Compiz to change the messages CCSM uses (which can be found here<http://gitweb.opencompositing.org/?p=compiz;a=blob;f=metadata/core.xml.in;h=8fa18ab503a4c245a6f77582706d29bbbb654cc5;hb=HEAD>) to be understandable to us not really technical people? One example would be the 'Sync To VBlank' option. I
