Xen boots to blank screen
It seems like there are several messages in the archive and in various forums about this problem, but I do not see a clear course of action for how to solve it. I am relatively new to Linux, compounding my problem. I just built a new machine for the express purpose of running Xen so my girlfriend and I could experiment and learn about different Linux distros. I am running on an Intel DG35EC

Installed Kernal (default)
Is there a description or statement that describes the stock kernal in CentOS, and would give all the various modules it is compiled with? As with BSD, I assume there are things in the kernal that are mandatory, and then there are things that are optional or included so as to catch most everything one could have w/r/t hardware. That being the case, as with FreeBSD, removing those unneded

[fdo] Linux with Graphics and Sound
Hello Linus Torvalds, Paul Davis, The state of most desktop and office applications under Linux seem quite healthy. People are working hard making the Linux desktop work. Yet, I am very sorry, but I cannot describe the deployment and maintaince of 3D graphics and sound API's as well as drivers as anything other than woeful. My hope is an enviroment where both open-source and commcial

If so, are you sure that you changed it correctly? Centos 7 doesn't use runlevels set in inittab like previous versions did. I see that fact is actually noted in /etc/inittab, along with the expected way to do it.

Mandrake 10, Request for comments.
My * is presently running fine on Mandrake 9.2, but Ive been entertaining moving to Mandrake 10.0 to enjoy the obvious improvement in kernal speed Im seeing on other 10.0 boxes Ive recently built for other applications. (10.0 is the first implementation of the 2.6 kernal) Any comments from anyone who's running on 10.0? IS anyone running * on Mandrake 10.0? If so, any issues stand out?

Vt-d not working with 3.4.1
Hi folks, currently I try to setup a new xen host v3.4.1 on top of a Asus P5E-VM DO (latest BIOS, Vt-d capable and enabled in BIOS) to migrate my extisting HVMs (Win2k3 server) running on Xen v3.3.0 to a new home. I want to switch over to 3.4.1 to (hopefully!) passthrough my ISDN board to a HVM domU. Unfortunate there seem some issue with the VT-d DMAR tables which is beyond my knowledge and

HVM guest support unavailable
Hi, when I try to start a hvm the well known error message "Error: HVM guest support is unavailable: is VT/AMD-V supported by your CPU and enabled in your BIOS?" appears. I am using an Intel E8400 on Asus P5E VM DO Board. /proc/cpuinfo info shows that the CPU has vmx support. I have enabled "Vanderpool Technology" in BIOS. According to the xen user manual the package dev86

Hi I've just built a new Ubuntu 9.04 system on an Asus P5Q-EM board (intel G45/X4500) with E8400 Core Duo 2 chip. I installed WINE and then foobar2000 but notice that the explorer tree in the Album List and Preferences window quite often become corrupt. http://www.flickr.com/photos/25525287 at N08/3515171090/ Anybody got any ideas why this might be happening? My issue is how we can increase the limit of the memory ram in my Photoshop preferences panel under Memory and Image Cache from 2 gigs to 4 gigs RAM? It doesn't seem to realize I have 4 gigs ram? question on share names
To all, I am hoping that someone can give a lead or answer to my problem. I have two RH linux servers with 2.2.16 kernal and kimberlite failover. Both are configed using Samba 2.07. The smb.conf file is in the cluster directory so that both servers read one conf file. Locks and log files are on shared disk space. What I am seeing is this. Occasionally, and sometimes after failover, my Samba
