guidelines for version specific info on wiki pages
hi Guys, Just wondering if we should have some guidelines as to how version specific information should be handled on the wiki ? One way might be to have a version tag on each page on the top right and indicate what Versions that page is going to work with. Then in the body have a Grey bar to indicate version specific info. But this might get a bit messy. Any other ideas ? - KB --

OpenNebula on CentOS-6
hi, Some of you might have seen the email on the centos-devel list, for the rest I just wanted to point out that we've been working on getting opennebula ( http://www.opennebula.org/ ) rpms and contextualised images for opennebula available with a very low barrier to entry for CentOS. The 'win' with OpenNebula is that its easy to install, easy to get going, scales well and mostly

Request: Page about other lists/ info sources
Hi Guys, can we get a page up somewhere that lists alternative places where a user might be able to go get some help ? Eg. Can we have a section that says : Xen, and then list the Xen mailing lists, and some url's - maybe 3 - 4 to start with. This sort of a thing might itself be a good lead for users on the info hunt. Ideas ? to start with, maybe we can just start off with a list of

How does verbosity work?
I'm trying to track down a CPU spike we are seeing in a system. We have tracked down the spike to a single CPU and TID using that CPU. Indications are that it's asterisk running this TID. I'm trying to figure out what asterisk is doing on this thread around that time, but haven't been able to match the tid to anything I'm seeing in asterisk debugging. Is there a good way to

Form's in the wiki
Just an idea to throw out there... It seems that moin is capable of adding forms and mostly sane actions to the forms. Would that be one route that we might be able to take w.r.t lowering the bar to entry for contributors into specific wiki-segments like the Laptop info ? Just an idea. Not sure how it might work, or even if it will. -- Karanbir Singh : http://www.karan.org/ : 2522219 at

policy w.r.t Testing repo details on wiki articles
Hi, Do we have a policy w.r.t adding details about packages in the testing repo on the wiki ? Imho that is wrong and encourages the sort of behavior that we want to stop - people using the testing repo without feedback and casual users moving to the testing repo. I think the important thing to keep in mind is - packages in the testing repo are NOT maintained, and even if they have security

How to diagnose "pops" and "clicks"?
My setup is as follows: Handset -> Sipura SPA 2000 -> Asterisk -> VoicePulse and Handset -> Sipura SPA 2000 -> Asterisk -> Digium X100P -> POTS I notice when making VoicePulse calls (but *not* POTS calls through the X100P) that there is significant "popping" and "clicking" on the line. This isn't enough to interfere seriously with the call, and

Eaton 1500 USB constant disconnections
Arno, thanks for taking the time to write back and no worries about lag, we're all busy and I'm grateful there is a community to interact with to begin with. You're right - the problem went away once I actually configured nut. I guess I was too "cautious" and when I saw the errors I thought something was wrong with the usb connection and didn't try to get nut going

Trying to diagnose incomplete file transfer
I second Francis here. You don't need to diagnose incomplete file transfers as long as you have racing conditions as you described. This leads to strange result inevitably. NEVER start several rsync jobs manipulating the same data - especially if there are modifications to BOTH sides source and destination. You do not necessarily define a service like Francis suggests.
