Keeping the traffis on or off the list ?
I'd bet the following is news to nobody.
Some of us Dislike setting Reply-To: at all.
If it exists, there's an expectation that it should be followed. Some
folks will want to reply to the sender, others to the list. So no
matter which way is chosen, one group will be disappointed. An email
client that makes it difficult for the user to override Reply-To: ...

Please re-read my email that explains the current setup of the list: https://alioth-lists.debian.net/pipermail/nut-upsuser/2024-February/013560.html
TL;DR we are not root on the mailing list server.

Keeping the traffis on or off the list ?
I sometimes get replies that are directed only to me.
Oftentimes it is a sender "error" to not have used Reply to All, so I
direct my response back to the list. Rarely it is about something the
senders deem confidential, where a pointed reply seems to make sense
(overriding would be bad).
Other than that, I think the mailing list service we get from alioth comes

DKIM
Okay,
Yahoo is bumming me. Only system my mail is having an issue with. All mail
is accepted, but junked. I can only think it is the DKIM/Domain keys.
It is apparent that the dkim-milter is not part of the centos 5.x distro nor
is it part of the mirrors, as far as I can tell.
So...have any of you done it with your servers for sendmail?
There are some sites that claim to have rpms and I have

I know it is not dovecot who should fix this. But anyone using dovecot
is using an MTA, and receiving spam ;) I know how to look at email
headers. Spf and dkim is not solving anything here.

hosting emails at home
Hello Mike,
Yes, I am using a static IP address, but in theory, you could use a
dynamic one.
Nothing technically would prevent email exchanges between two boxes, as
long as the SPF records are up to date and the DKIM is properly setup.
Unfortunately, some ISPs are simply blacklisting full range of private
IP addresses just because they are not officials / commercials.
Kind regards,
Andr?

[fdo] PSA: Google dropping a lot of list email
Hi all,
There's a good chance that the people who most need to see this won't
see it, but here goes anyway.
Google is currently dropping a _lot_ of the mail we attempt to deliver
to lists.fd.o subscribers. The immediate cause is sending on mail from
domains with SPF/DKIM/DMARC policies which explicitly specify that
lists.fd.o cannot relay mail on their behalf. Every time we do that,

[fdo] PSA: Mailman changes, From addresses no longer accurate
Hi all,
We have hit another step change in aggressive anti-spam techniques
from major mail providers. Over the past few days, we saw a huge spike
in the number of mails we were failing to deliver to GMail and
outlook.com in particular.
It looks like it is now no longer acceptable for us to break
DMARC/DKIM/SPF. These are DNS-based extensions to SMTP, which allow

I reviewed my config to see how i did it. I think you are right and SASL isn't used here. I have dovecot and postfix on the same machine and in dovecot i set
submission_host = localhost:25

I have dovecot postfix setup on my home server as well. I use a virtual
server in the cloud as my mx record and mail relay and have my home record
on dynamic dns. It's really effective.

Which part? Hosting the email server at home or the relay in the cloud?

I have noticed that when I post to this list (only), I get DKIM
