Subversion problem - since you guys talked me into it :)
Following the advice here I''ve been trying to get subversion installed
and working from my virtual dedicated server this weekend. I believe
everything is installed properly, and that all that''s left is to get the
apache httpd.conf file set up correctly.
to talk to my server with my client I''m using the path:

CentOS-4 i386 errata: Configuration change for
centos-yumconf has been updated to include (but disable) all optional
centos repositories. This would allow a user to update / install from
an optional repository without needing to modify the configuration
files.
Example:
If you wanted to install a package named foo from the optional repositry
named centosplus, you would use the following command:
yum --enablerepo=centosplus install foo

Ctrl Select Dodgy
Hi,
does anyone have experience of ctrl + mouse click to select (files in the open file dialogue) being dodgy?
I use wine to run version 2.5 of the official flickr uploader and use ctrl + mouse click to select multiple files. Pretty often the ctrl doesn't work so that all the other files are deselected. Which is pretty annoying.
I upgraded from the standard jaunty version to the latest wine

difficulty in Ubuntu 14.04 apt-getting R 3.3.2
Hi:
I have a Dockerfile, which builds an image which installed R 3.3.2 in
Ubuntu 14.04, but building using that Dockerfile seems to have stopped
working and I am unclear why.
I believe the relevant error is:
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet

Best way to handle dependency on non-CRAN package / large data package?
Thanks Dirk. I'm looking at it now.
At first glance your documentation brings up a good limitation of simply
telling users to type "devtools::install_github()". Namely, what happens
when the census bureau updates their shapefiles, and I subsequently decide
to update the package? Or if I discover an error in the package and decide
to update it? The choroplethr package could have a

Best way to handle dependency on non-CRAN package / large data package?
Hi Dirk,
I'm interested in pursing this but I haven't been able to figure how to to
make it work. Here's what I have so far:
install.packages("drat")
library(drat)
addRepo("arilamstein")
I (obviously) have a copy of the choroplethrZip github repo locally. I
typed:
git checkout gh-pages
git push
I gather that this is what I needed to to do make the repo

unnecessary reload of 8-byte struct on i386
Hello folks,
I've recently been looking at the generated code for a few functions in Chromium while investigating crashes, and I came across a curious pattern. A smallish repro case is available at https://godbolt.org/z/Dsu1WI . In that case, the function Assembler::emit_arith receives a struct (Operand) by value and passes it by value to another function. That struct is 8 bytes long, so the

can''t get network access from windows hvm
Hello everyone,
I have been able to get windows xp to run under a virtual machine, but i
cannot get any network access.
My desktop is connected to a university network, and we are only given 1
ip address. so i understand i have to use routing instead of bridging,
right?
i have commented the two lines for bridge and enabled routing in
/etc/xen/xend-config.sxp
next i inserted a line:

is mounted on 10 nodes and up until recently it had been working
flawlessly. a few days ago we started getting strange write errors that
resulted in partial files being written to the glusterFS. i did some
google'ing and then stopped the glusterfs

On the server side, I didn't get far because the domain name come up NULL so
it failed on that test.
Below are two logs log98.txt and log2000.txt that show full debug info.
I might just have a stupid configuration or installation mistakes. I am sure
that my basic configuration must work since it is a very typical setup.
Any help will be highly appreciated

Access across routers
Greetings,
I have an interesting situation where SAMBA servers that are across various
routers are requiring the fully qualified domain name. Example:
\\xyx.nrl.navy.mil. If our SAMBA server is local (behind the same router
as our client), then the \\xyx name will work fine....
This allows you to connect, but if you are browsing the network
neighborhood, and you double click on the \\xyx when

SMB Accross Subnets
I am trying to connect to remote machines NT or SAMBA servers using TCP/IP

I can succesfully issue the run command \\<fully qualified domain name> on
the NT side and everything works great. However Windows 95 fails!
On the other hand I can issue the
