New Subsystem criteria for Match option block in OpenSSH server
Hello everybody, I'm a C/C++ consultant working for Ericsson. I changed the OpenSSH-Portable code to add a new criteria into the Match sshd_config option read by the sshd server. The new criteria is "Subsystem"; so a conditional block based on subsystem client request can now be added to the sshd_config configuration server file to override settings in its global section.

[PATCH] Added NoDelay config option and nodelay subsystem option
Hello again! Since there was some resistance against adding TCP_NODELAY uncontionally, I've made another patch. The new patch contains the following: * Added a NoDelay yes/no (default no) config option to ssh and sshd * Added -oNoDelay=yes to the ssh command line for sftp. * Changed the sshd subsystem config option syntax from Subsystem name path to Subsystem name options path

[PATCH] Add config option disabling drop_connection() behavior
The patch below (against openssh 3.2.3p1) adds a CheckMaxStartups option, defaulting to yes, to determine whether sshd calls drop_connection(). The motivation behind this is twofold. In our environment, our timesharing machines get enough incoming connections that will trigger spuriously with the default value (10 forked unauthenticated connections) as well as some significantly higher values,

AllowUsers - proposal for useful variations on the theme
A short while ago, I looked at using the AllowUsers configuration option in openssh (v3.8p1 , but I believe this to be unchanged in 3.9p1) to restrict access such that only specific remote machines could access specific local accounts. I swiftly discovered that a) specifying wildcarded IP numbers to try to allow a useful IP range was pointless: if I specified AllowUsers joe at

[PATCH] Add a chroot_users option to sshd
This patch adds a new option to sshd, chroot_users. It has the effect of chroot()ing incoming ssh users to their home directory. Note: this option does not work if UsePrivilegeSeparation is enabled. Patch is based on OpenSSH 3.4p1. *** servconf.h@@\main\1 Tue Oct 1 17:25:32 2002 --- servconf.h Wed Oct 2 06:17:48 2002 *************** *** 131,136 **** --- 131,137 ---- char

[PATCH] Feature addition: user access control per auth method
I added a few features to openssh for my local use that I think would be more broadly useful. I basically added access control lists to control who would be allowed public key authentication. I added four config file entries for the server: PubkeyAllowUsers PubkeyDenyUsers PubkeyAllowGroups PubkeyDenyGroups These follow the same sematics as the already existing entries for

Plot and lm
I want to make a log-log plot with a regression line, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. What I'm trying is: plot(mass,area, log="xy", pch=as.numeric(food)) abline(lm(mass~area)) or plot(mass,area, log="xy", pch=as.numeric(food)) islands$logmass <- log(mass) islands$logarea <- log(area) attach(islands) abline(lm(logmass~logarea)) But that does

Can't drop root group privileges
Hi all, I need your insight. I've been testing Dovecot on an AIX 5.2 system. Compiled and running fine. We have some users on an AIX 5.1 system, so I'm working on installing it there, so we can do further testing. I'm using Dovecot 1.0 RC15 with OpenSSL 9.0.7e, configured to use port 10143 (imap) and 10993 (imaps). The error I'm seeing in the log is: dovecot: Nov 28

[PATCH] allow relative path in streamlocal forwarding
When forwarding a Unix-domain socket, the remote socket path must be absolute (otherwise the forwarding fails later). However, guessing absolute path on the remote end is sometimes not straightforward, because the file system location may vary for many reasons, including the system installation, the choices of NFS mount points, or the remote user ID. To allow ssh clients to request remote socket

9.3p1 Daemon Rejects Client Connections on armv7l-dey-linux-gnueabihf w/ GCC 10/11/12
I have an NXP i.MX6-based armv7l-dey-linux-gnueabihf system in which I am seeing some as-yet-unaccountable behavior in sshd when compiled with Arm/GCC 10/11/12. That is, when attempting to scp/slogin/ssh to 'root@<host>', where <host> is either a name or IPv4 or IPv6 address, the connection is quickly closed by the server without prompting for a password. The variable I can

dovecot 1.0 to 1.1 upgrade and filesystem separators
Dear All I have a test system where I am trying out 1.1.4 On the old 1.0rc6 (!) system I had edited: src/lib-storage/index/maildir/mail-storage.h to change: #define MAILDIR_FS_SEP ';' #define MAILDIR_FS_SEP_S ";" so I can get some mail folder hierarchy and '.'s in folder names - this all worked perfectly. Under 1.1.4 the MAILDIR_FS_SEP lines are no longer present.
