Perl library
For over five years now, we use Perl during the post install of kickstart to perform customization. It appears the Perl setup is broken in CentOS 4.3 x86_64. It still works fine on CentOS 4.1 32-bit. The library Perl needs is missing: # perl -V error while loading shared libraries: libperl.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or director Is this a bug or is RedHat deprecating

Evil is the pthread thingy...
Okay, this might be a silly question, but.... On the Redhat box that my server people have installed icecast on (yeah, sorry, I'm not exactly a linux guru myself here) libshout seems to compile and install, however when we try to run the test.pl the first two checks come back fine, but the third comes back and says perl: relocation error: /usr/local/lib/libshout.so.3: undefined symbol:

Hello, I'd like to do some initial experiments with LLVM on embedded ARM (Nokia N800), but ran into a build issue. Could s.o. give me a tip? ices configure script
Hi, I'm having difficulty getting ices 0.2.2 to see my lame install and my perl install. The lame libraries (v3.91) are installed in: /usr/local/lib/ with the header file at: /usr/local/include/lame/lame.h, but when I run: ./configure --with-lame --with-lame-includes=/usr/local/include/lame/ --with-lame-libraries=/usr/local/ it says it can't find the lame libraries. ldconfig seems

Heartbeat for Centos 5- Can't build RPMS or install prebuilt RPMS
I am stuck. This is X86_64 platform. In the extras repos, there is the SRPMS for heartbeat along with the RPMS for it. I have downloaded both. But I can't build the RPMS from the SRPM as it fails compiling something in BUILD/heartbeat-2.0.8/lib/crm/pengine Additionally, I can't install the RPMS: rpm -Uvh heartbeat-2.0.8-3.el5.centos.i386.rpm heartbeat-2.0.8-3.el5.centos.x86_64.rpm

nfsen daemon dies for unknown reason
Hello, I am using nfsen 1.3.5 (http://nfsen.sourceforge.net/) on CentOS 5.8 x86_64 (running as a VM on a KVM Host). For those not knowing it, nfsen is using php and perl and it allows graphing and analysis of (Cisco routers) netflow data captured using nfdump. Often (about once a day) nfsen crashes for unknown reason. For example: # /data/nfsen/bin/nfsen status NfSen version: 1.3.5

Package management
Anyone care to share how they handle yum updates? We have a script that runs yum update nightly and then emails us the results when there are packages to be updated. Ideally I''d like a way to keep a class in site.pp that can be uncommented to run yum update -y after the update list is reviewed by a human. Tim

Bind-9.11 is installed. How do you configure it? Does it need anything special in the config for samba to build the ...samba.../named.conf file that I should be able to include in my /etc/named.conf afterwards? My guess is that some directory is missing. But if I start fresh and configure samba with the internal dns it gets all the way through it's configuration with no errors. I've
