Rebasing a 4.11 windows build to current Samba.
Andrew, Thank you for responding. I originally started down that track but had problems building several dependencies early on. I opted to move it to Cygwin because it was more familiar for me and many of the required dependencies were buildable. With more experience now I can certainly see your point as far as getting a windows build for mainline, so I may try that again soon. There may be some

DIF means?
Hi, In Solairs Dtrace User Guide, page 193, it lists the arguments of ERROR probe. One of these arguments is arg3, it is explained as "The DIF offset into that action or -1 if not applicable". Then what does the abbr. DIF mean? Regards TJ

DIF Analysis starting from a gpcm class object
Dear useRs, does any of you have suggestions on how to conduct a proper DIF analysis starting from a model of class gpcm (from the wonderful package ltm by prof. Rizopoulos)? difR will handle only dichotomous items, and I have a mix of dicho- and polytomous ones (that's why I chose the partial credit model). I also found the package lordif, but I'm not really sure if that's what I

Clarification on Samba AD functional levels
Hello all, Does Samba properly support 2012_R2 domains? If so, what is the earliest version of Samba AD that supports it? I see that the most recent versions support ad dc functional level = 2012_R2 in smb.conf but I am unsure if I can safely run 2012_R2 functional level on older versions of Samba. A little background: In my test environment I setup a Samba 4.20 AD Domain Controller with

help with for loop
Dear useRs, I want to write a function that generates all the possible combinations of diff(). Example: If my vector has length 5, I need the diff() until lag=4 -> c(diff(my.vec), diff(my.vec, lag=2), diff(my.vec, lag=3), diff(my.vec, lag=4)) If it has length 4, I need until lag=3 -> c(diff(my.vec), diff(my.vec, lag=2), diff(my.vec, lag=3)) So, it must be until lag=(length(my.vec)-1).

modify and append new rows to a data.frame using ddply
Hi, I have a data.frame that contains a variable act which records the duration (in seconds) of two states (wet-dry) for several individuals (identified by Ring) over a period of time. Since I want to work with daytime (i.e. from sunrise till sunset) and night time (i.e. from sunset till next sunrise), I have to split act from time[i] till sunset and from sunset until time[i+1], and from time[k]

Okay first off here''s the error: You have a nil object when you didn''t expect it! You might have expected an instance of Array. I can run "kruskalmc" just fine, but after studying the documentation for "multcompletters" for a long time, I cannot figure out how to make it work. Any ideas? trouble with step() and stepAIC() selecting the best model
Hello, I have some trouble using step() and stepAIC() functions. I'm predicting recruitment against several factors for different plant species using a negative binomial glm. Sometimes, summary(step(model)) or summary(stepAIC(model) does not select the best model (lowest AIC) but just stops before. For some species, step() works and stepAIC don't and in others, it's the opposite.
