Hardware monitoring for Intel Atom D945GCLF.
Hi, Is there a way to make use of hardware monitoring on Intel 945GCLF (with Atom 230 cpu)? It is relatively new child of Intel, but maybe someone figured it out yet. pciconf -lv shows this: ichsmb0@pci0:0:31:3: class=0x0c0500 card=0x464c8086 chip=0x27da8086 rev=0x01 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'Intel Corporation' device = '82801G (ICH7 Family) SMBus

ichsmb SMB, interrupt, SMP
I have a problem with an SMP 4.7 kernel with ichsmb. My BIOS has not assigned an interrupt, so the kernel does on startup: ichsmb0: <Intel 82801CA (ICH3) SMBus controller> port 0x1100-0x111f irq 0 at device 31.3 on pci0 pci_cfgintr_virgin: using routable interrupt 3 pci_cfgintr: 0:31 INTB routed to irq 3 smbus0: <System Management Bus> on ichsmb0 smb0: <SMBus general purpose

alpm(4) I/O range is claimed by ACPI
Hi, How can I load the alpm(4) module for SMBus support on my ASUS Vintage AH-1 system? It appears the I/O range it uses is claimed by the acpi(4) driver. Can I override the mapping in some way i.e. tell ACPI not to claim the range? I don't see anything obvious about this in the acpi(4) man page. thanks, BMS

support of SMBus on ICH3
Hello all, I have problems with enabling support for SMBus on STABLE. My motherboard is ICH3 (82801CA). As suggested in LINT I added 3 lines to my kernel config: device smbus device ichsmb device smb But after compiling, installing and rebooting /dev/smb[01] are not available and no changes in kernel startup messages either. So I

Problem reading vitals from Gigabyte H77-DH3H
Hello everyone, I'm unable to read temperature Gigabyte H77-DH3H motherboard. Is that motherboard supported or am I doing it incorrectly? When trying to access hw.acpi.thermal everything appears to be ok, but it is not, the system always returns 27,8C and 29,8C which fooled me initially - the values never change. Here is output: [chinatsu]:/root# sysctl hw.acpi.thermal

sysctl maxfiles
By default FreeBSD 7.0 shipped with the sysctls set to: kern.maxfiles: 12328 kern.maxfilesperproc: 11095 We recently bumped up against these limits in an unfortunate way and we are going to raise them. I have some questions: * why are the numbers set the way they are? They aren't round numbers, they aren't powers of 2. But they were arrived at somehow with planning and thought

passing through SMBus
Hi All, I have a windows 7 as my domU and some windows based drivers are not fully functional (like: touchpad-driver etc ) because they are SMBus based. I was looking at a way to passthrough the SMBus at 00:1f.03 on south bridge ( 00:1f.0), I was debugging at pt-graphics.c and understand that it is detecting the south bridge and passing it through but the other functions for the same dev-id are

Short SMART check causes disk op timeouts
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 Hi, I have recently bought a new disk (Seagate 500G, ST3500320NS). I have enabled SMART checking using the smartmontools as usual for the disk (/dev/ad6 -a -S on -s (S/../.././03|L/../../7/03) -m root). The problem is that each time the test runs I get messages like the following in /var/log/messages: Oct 26 04:54:15 35 kernel: ad6: TIMEOUT -

syslog console log not logging SCSI problems
One of our FreeBSD boxes has a SCSI controller and disk, which showed problems earlier this week. There was a lot of of chatter from the SCSI driver in /var/log/messages and to the console. However, the console is unattended and we only discovered the problem subsequently because /var/log/console.log didn't show any of the chatter. console.log is otherwise working, and very helpful (e.g. it

TDM400P periodic sound clicks on FXS
Hi, I am having periodic sound clicks (2-3 per second) on all FXS of a TDM400P when the remote end is my VoIP provider. However: - recording the conversation on the asterisk, does not have the glitches, although I can hear them on a real phone. - My VoIP provider to my VoIP phones through the same asterisk is OK. - TDM to TDM through the same asterisk is OK. I have asked for help in the freenode ##xen channel but they

AHCI and correct drive geometry?
Hey folks, So what's the word on AHCI and bios drive geometry? I'm having a real pain of a time trying to get some 750gb sata drives running on my FreeBSD7 box in AHCI mode. It doesn't seem to matter what disk geometry I suggest to sysinstall, something complains of an invalid disk upon booting it. Actually, in AHCI mode the bios screen doesn't report any information on

usb 3
I am trying to plug a USB 2 device in a USB 3 slot. Nothing is being detected in "lsusb". Is there something special I need to do? I am running centos 5.5 x86_64. I thought 3.0 was backward compatible. Nothing special about my device its an RS232 to USB device. It works in 2.0 slot. Thanks, Jerry
