Benefits of SSL?
Hi Thomas, Why not offer both? SSL is important so as not to be penalized by search engines that nowadays expect it on any website, more so when you have a form asking for sensitive information, as it encrypts the communication between browser and server. Having said that, there is no reason for you not to offer both https:// and http://, all you need to do is using different ports. For

someone wake me up...
and tell me that it is possible to make icecast broadcast titles or id3 tags. I refuse to believe that you all can talk so fondly of a program that gives you the ability to make a radiostation but not tell its listeners what is on the air.. That is just too weird.. So what do YOU do to tell people what they are listening to? Arvid www.playrec.dk -for all kinds of good music ICQ# 724069 ---

I have a odd question...
Hi all. I am going to do a simple "voting application" for a radiostation. The idea is to have listeners call in to vote on songs. What I want to do is to take a phonenumer for each song and present the result on a simple webpage. Eg. To vote on song number one, call 555-1111 To vote on song number two, call 555-2222 etc etc. When the listener calls in, a playback tells him:

Radio Station
List, Time and time again I am sure you get this question. I am trying to setup a radiostation, and here is what I am looking for: 1. Ability for people to "call in" with say, winamp+oddcast or simplecast. 2. Ability to change password for the caller at any time. I know by default that Icecast2 does not allow the sharing of mounts, so what about setting up the following: 1. /radio

question on Icecast & licenses
Hello. Did anyone who launched Icecast server for his own radiostation acquired any licenses for playing music from artists or labels (sound recording companies)? Or you just pay royalties? For ex., if you play some track of F.Goya, do you get some licenses from him on his track or his label? Thanks Konstantin -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Mount failed - icecast2 with ices
Ok so I finally realized that you need icecast2 for ogg streaming to work and got the latest version of ices-0.2 installed. I am now unable to ever stream a friggin mp3 never mind an ogg file. The server is up (icecast2) and I see it in the web browser, when I try to run ices-0.2 I get the following errror. I am running ices-0.2 as root and icecast2 as richard (might that be the problemo?) Access Database SLOW
I've got a user that wants an Access database shared out. I've got a decent machine serving out the directory (300 MHz Pentium II) running RedHat 5.0 (kernel 2.0.34) with Samba 1.9.17p4 (RPM is samba-1.9.17p4-3). I've created a simple share entry in the smb.conf file: [global] debug level = 1 browsable = yes comment = Samba under Linux (RedHat 5.0) domain master = yes

Non-Linear Quantile Regression
Please, I have a problem with nonlinear quantile regression. My data shows a large variability and the quantile regression seemed perfect to relate two given variables. I got to run the linear quantile regression analysis and to build the graph in the R (with quantreg package). However, the up part of my data dispersion seems a positive exponential curve, while the down part seems a negative

Question about replacing the web interface with an audio stream
What’s wrong with reverse proxying icecast through apache? In my case, it’s just a measure to allow a secondary point of access to a stream from public wifi that only allows ports 80 and 443. Is it just a potential resource usage implication? > On Apr 7, 2019, at 6:12 PM, Humberto Rodriguez wrote: > > Why not reproduce the stream using the <audio>

Writing audio files (.wav) in a different directory
Hi. I'm trying to export a .wav file using the writeWave function from tuneR package in a different folder than the default getwd(). After reading through the manuals of some audio packages I couldn't figure it out. I'm picking one 3-hour .wav file and asking the function to take a sample of 1 minute (from minute 100 to minute 101 of the 3-hour file) and saving it in an object

smbstatus show open files when none are
I recently (a few weeks ago) installed 1.9.18p8 in order to get better performance with an Access Database, which along with adding a TCP_NODELAY in the [global] section has that working like a charm. Thing that's bugging me now is smbstatus. When I run it I see open files listed when I know that they aren't. The following output shows quite a few files open that aren't really. The

chan_oh323 Module for Asterisk
If anyone in the list has a working version of the chan_oh323.so file for Fedora Core 2 and Redhat, can he email the same to the list as attachment. This will reduce the pain for many of the users who are trying to compile the same from the libraries, which never seemed to work.
