broken network-support for netBSD-domUs?
Hello.
I recently tried installing NetBSD-5 on xen-4.0.1-rc5, which resulted in no network (xennet0 can''t get IPs per dhclient and has no connectivity if set by hand).
Tried it with netBSD-5.1-RC3-1 i386 PAE & amd64, netBSD-5.0 and even 4, all with the same result.
On a older xen version (3.3.1) networking works fine, so I assume it''s a xen bug, and not a netBSD-kernel

unpredictable Xen crash w NetBSD 5.0.2(XEN3PAE_DOMU)
Dear all:
I''m sorry I crossmail.
I try setup aoe-vblade server on netbsd 5.0.2(domU)
and I try to do some stress test with
for i in {65536}; do dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/etherd/e?.? bs=4K;done
on a Linux box
Two Xen dom0 configurations I use:
1. 32bits SuSE Enterprise Linux 11sp1 2.6.32.12-0.7-xen with 32bits
Xen 4.0.0_21091_04-0.2.6

[PATCHES] NetBSD support, authentication buffer size
Hi
Here are a few unintegrated patches, just tested against 2.2rc7:
1) NetBSD's getmntinfo uses struct statvfs while other BSD use struct statfs
http://ftp.espci.fr/shadow/manu/patch-ak
2) NetBSD 5.x net_getunixcred() support. Build on NetBSD, but not tested
(I am testing on NetBSD 6.0):

3) Increase authentication buffer size so that it

Asterisk on NetBSD
I was reading on the wiki that Asterisk runs very solid on NetBSD.
Can anyone comment? What is the definition of solid? Who is running
Asterisk on NetBSD and which version of Asterisk are you running?
Also, I know there is limited support for Digium cards on NetBSD, but
is there any support at all? Would a TE410P work in NetBSD? I want to
build a very simple VoIP to TDM gateway. My idea

fixes for quota support on NetBSD
Hi!
dovecot-2.2.13 already has quota support for NetBSD, but it's buggy.
The attached patches by Manuel Bouyer <bouyer at NetBSD.org> fix the
issues.
There is one thing that's not nice in them: one include is now for
"/usr/include/quota.h" since dovecot comes with its own file "quota.h"
which is earlier in the search path. Perhaps dovecot's copy can be

sieve vacation alias handling problem
Hi,
I am using Dovecot LDA as LMTP renders envelope extension unusable.
The problem I have noticed is that when user has multiple aliases sieve
responds to all of them, not only to :addresses specified.
>From testing it seems that :addresses only adds addresses to the list of
"known" emails to check against. It is not limiting it.
As I understand, sieve should check if To: header

[PATCH] support for NetBSD 6.0 libquota
Hi
NetBSD 6.0 introduced a new improved quota subsystem and an unified API
(libquota) to handle the new and old quota implementation. dovecot is
unable to use the new quota implementation right now, and will even fail
to build with the old quota API on NetBSD 6.0:
Here are dovecot patches to support NetBSD libquota:

now compiles properly.

memdisk : booting OpenBSD and NetBSD
hi there.
I'm trying to boot several OSes floppy images from a cdrom via memdisk.
Actually, Linux and FreeBSD boots fine, but, while i'm using the same method,
I couldn't get into booting netbsd nor openbsd.
The boot process seems to hang up, in those two cases, when the second stage
native bootloader try to load the kernel (i'm not absolutely sure about this).
The native first

SXCE 121 Kernel Panic while installing NetBSD 5.0.1 PVM DomU
Hi all!
I am running SXCE 121 on a dual quad-core X2200M2 (64 bit of course).
During an installation of a NetBSD 5.0.1 PVM domU, the entire machine
crashed with a kernel panic. Here''s what I managed to salvage from
the LOM console of the machine:

libogg, libvorbis and vorbis-tools for 1.0beta4.
The following is some of the patches needed for libao and vorbis-tools.

NetBSD pkgsrc maintanance
hi all,
i've taken over the maintainership of dovecot's pkgsrc on NetBSD -
please send me your ideas, questions and comments related to dovecot
on NetBSD.
FreeBSD's port has currently some more 'features' than the pkgsrc,
i'm going to add some of them - any feedback is appreciated.
bye,

Throughput problem with Samba 3.3.1 on NetBSD
Hello everyone,
I need some collective wisdom, I have recently start using NetBSD and
works quite well on everything but with Samba.
I have played with the smb.conf to try to improve performance but to no
avail.
The setup is fairly simple.
Here is my smb.conf
