upsd/upsc, LISTEN and hostname resolution in master/slave
Hi, I've been setting up a few Eatons 1500 USB in master/slave mode and run into what I'm thinking is a hostname resolution problem. Basically, to avoid hardcoding ips, I'd love to be able to add a LISTEN on the lan's ip which has hostname, let's say, server1.local . If I set up upsd.conf such as LISTEN server1.local 3493 what I end up with is upsd listening on 127.0.0.1 .

upsd/upsc, LISTEN and hostname resolution in master/slave
Manuel, I very much appreciate you taking the time to share such depth of experience, that makes a lot of sense and clearly things out very thoroughly. I will amend my ansible common playbook to get rid of that line and will test to see if I can find any problems elsewhere, but otherwise that sounds like the best solution. thanks again, Spike On Wed, Mar 29, 2017 at 12:11 PM Manuel Wolfshant

upsd/upsc, LISTEN and hostname resolution in master/slave
thank you Arno, I'm with Manuel on the "IP address or hostname", maybe I didn't understand your previous explanation, but to me there's still a bigger issue/unclear behavior. Let's say I just installed ubuntu on a machine with hostname server1 and ip 192.168.0.1 . In /etc/hosts I end up with two lines (per

[2.0.3] upsd.conf: Permission denied even if correctly set ?
Hello all, I'm new to nut, i've donwloaded and installed without problem apparently nut 2.0.3 on a slackware 10.x (1 i think). /usr/local/ups/bin/upsdrvctl start seems to work correctly. but when i do: /usr/local/ups/sbin/upsd i've got: Network UPS Tools upsd 2.0.3 stat /usr/local/ups/etc/upsd.conf: Permission denied but upsd.conf is 0640 and set with root.ups as stated in some

question re: ls oddity
Hi all! I use Centos-7 all the time. I also have a Fedora-26 VM that I use only occasionally. Today I noticed that ls on the two systems gives different results when listing the same (networked) directory. the one on fedora 26 shows files with spaces in the names like this: 'CHURCH FAMILY ADDRESS AND PHONE LIST.doc' whereas the one on Centos shows it without the quotes. both systems

prettyNum digits=0 not compatible with scientific notation
R developers, Seems I get a bad result ("%#4.0-1e" in particular) when trying to use prettyNum digits=0 with scientific notation. I tried on both my Linux box and on an online R evaluator and saw the same problem, so it's not limited to my box at least. I see the problem in both R 3.5.3 and R 3.3.2. options(scipen=-100) prettyNum(1, digits=0) [1] "%#4.0-1e" prettyNum(2,

A barrage of unexplained timeouts
We''ve been running unicorn-3.6.2 on REE 1.8.7 2011.12 in production for quite some time and we use monit to monitor each unicorn worker. Occasionally, I''ll get a notification that a worker has timed-out and has been re-spawned. In all these cases, when I look at the rails logs, I can see the last request that the worker handled, and they all have appeared to complete

Three-dimensional (3D) movement using 'R'
Hi Everyone, I have a question regarding the construction of 3D graphs in 'R', BUT these graphs also need to illustrate movement (with time) of the prostate gland (using radiological techniques). I am not sure how to do this in 'R' although I'm sure there is some way of doing it. Below, I have copied and pasted some of the data with which I'm working on. The data

VGAM constraints-related puzzle
Hello R users, I have a puzzle with the VGAM package, on my first excursion into generalized additive models, in that this very nice package seems to want to do either more or less than what I want. Precisely, I have a 4-component outcome, y, and am fitting multinomial logistic regression with one predictor x. What I would like to find out is, is there a single nonlinear function f(x) which acts

a slight bug of upsd?
Hi! I found that if upsd had been running, then another "upsd" was typed. The upsd.pid file would be deleted and the previous upsd could not quit normally unless using "pkill upsd". The second upsd detects port conflict, and then deletes the upsd.pid. As a result, any further "upsd -c stop" or "upsd -c reload" would detect no upsd.pid and simply quit. I

Education - 1, 000s, 100, 000's, Millions of listeners. (What kind of infrastructure)
Hi Wayne Yep, HLS is something we would like to use with Icecast. As you mentioned, Liquidsoap made a great step in the right direction if it comes to HLS. It seem that icecast might not get this support soon, as you might read in the discussion list. I don?t share these arguments, because we have real world use cases (we have many of them) where we would like use icecast with HLS support.

upsd segfault.
Hi all, Have a strange behaviour that I don't know how to debug. This is when I use the Eaton PW5125 ups. I have it connected And running in standby. Starting up the drivers (pw3105 and pw5125) and they run. Start up the upsd and can read info from both of them. The 3105 is supplying the computer and the 5125 have a dummy load. The 5125 is showing that it is off line. Now when I hit the on
