Samba 4 permissions error
This is a normal behaviour if you are using several dcs. Users und groups do have another gid/uid on each server
until you fix it manually. This was a hard experiennce and work even fo rme which I suggest that this should be
the next goal for the samba 4 developers to solve and fix it in an easy way for the admins.
In my opinion, if I run several dcs in a domain this should be done between the

Enable Recycling
So I've added the following information to my smb.conf in the general
section based off various information on the internet, but primarily from here:
http://timtrott.co.uk/enabling-recycle-bin-functionality-samba/
Nonetheless when I delete files from any shares they are not sent to
Recycling. What am I missing?

Hello
I'm testing the VFS recycle stuff on a 3.0.14a-Debian (Debian Sarge,

browseable = yes
writable = yes
public = yes
vfs object = recycle
#recycle:repository = ../readonly
recycle:keeptree = yes
recycle:versions = yes
recycle:touch = yes

recycle on a fileserver domain member
Thanks for your answer Rowland,
I fix this problem. I had not put writing permission to the "domain users".

In the image above I show the permissions of the recycle folder. They are
correct?
Do I need to have these 3 entries below in my smb.conf?
recycle:directory_mode = 0700
recycle:subdir_mode = 0700
recycle:inherit_nt_acl = Yes

Denis,
I have checked this and verify that this is a bug. You can track the
progress towards fixing this from https://bugzilla.samba.org as bug #210.
Thanks for the feedback.

fileserver has a few share with win ACL ( I follow [ https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_a_Share_Using_Windows_ACLs | https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_a_Share_Using_Windows_ACLs ] ) .
Everythings works fine and I can setup security access for that

FTS delays
For this first point, the problem is that dovecot core sends TWICE the
request and "Inbox" appears in the list of arguments ! (inbox shall
serve to select teh right mailbox, never sent to the backend)
And even if this would be solved, the dovecot core loops *after* the
backend hs returneds the results

No, the parsing is made by dovecot core, that is nothing the backend can
do about it. The backend shall *never* reveive this. (would it be buggy
or no)
PLease, have a look deeper
And the loop is a very big problem as it times out all the time (and
once again, this is not in any of the backend functions)

Inbox appears in the list of arguments, because fts_backend_xapian_lookup() is parsing the search args wrong. Not sure about the other issue.

Timo,
A little of logic here :
1 - the mailbox is passed by dovecot to the backend as a mailbox *
pointer , NOT as a search parameter.
-> It works properly when entering a search from roundcube or evolution
for instance.
-> therefore this is a clear bug of the command line
2 - the loop : Actually, the timeout occurs because the dovecot core is
DISCARDING the results of the backend
