upgraded to rails 2.0.1 and borked sessions
I just pushed my facebook app up to 2.0.1 and noticed that I am now
getting these errors:
ActionView::TemplateError (Session key invalid or no longer valid) on
line #3 of users/index.fbml.erb:
It appears that I get the facebook_session object back but when i
introspect and try and get the user''s name or something i get the
session error. Has anyone else had these problems?

Facebooker::Session::SessionExpired (Session key invalid or no longer valid)
Hi All,
I''m having horrible problems with this exception, which seems to happen as
soon as I access the session object. Does anyone know what the path is to
recover from this? This post looked to be the most promising:
http://rubyforge.org/pipermail/facebooker-talk/2007-December/000047.html
And I followed all of the steps except switching my session store, and

Facebook cookies and cross domain sessions
Hi,
I wonder if can quiz anyone on how to solve a problem. I use our
Facebook app to take payments so we have to access our app outside of
the Facebook Canvas for a few controllers (and only minimally). We have
a system working fine and we have a token based login to ensure its the
same user on the external pages.
The problem is we want to perform an action, set some flash messages

A best practices question
Hey everyone. I''ve got a best practices question. How are you guys
rendering newsfeeds? We have a couple of apps where we send newsfeed
items from a backend process. As such, we aren''t in the context of a
controller and can''t use the rails template rendering. We''ve tried
about 3 different ways to make that bearable, but aren''t having much

Upgrade to 2.0.2: InvalidAuthenticityToken error on 1st POST
All,
I''ve upgraded to 2.0.2, and I can''t get my login screen (the first POST
request in the application) to work.
When I post this form, I see the "InvalidAuthenticityToken" error.
I have
protect_from_forgery :secret => ''my_secret''
set in application.rb
and I am using an active_record session store based on this line in
environment.rb:

Rails Environment Config
Per the last thread about link_to_remote I started comparing some of my app
config settings with that in the Facebook Platform Development guide and
have a few questions.
1. application.rb

config.action_controller.session = {
:session_key => "_xxx_session",

Choosing the right session store
Hi everyone,
I am currently using the activerecord session store for my app built using
Facebooker. I know that Facebook has recently released support for cookies
(though still in Beta). I was wondering if anyone knows how to use that for
the session store. My AR Session store is filling up like crazy - I have
about a 100 sessions created in less than a second by a single user. (BTW,

new facebooker
Hi guys,
I am new to this list and thought i''d say hello. I am using
facebooker on a new project and so far I am really pleased with it. I
saw that some users are having woes with the url_rewriter breaking
urls for paths outside of the facebook canvas (i.e. your site
supports both facebook and non-facebook users). I don''t have a
prefect answer for this but I wrote a

facebooker rails 2.0
Hey guys,
Anyone using facebooker on a rails 2.0 site? I noticed at least one
deprecated call in facebooker, which i am working on a patch for but
didn''t know if anyone else has tried it out on the new build of rails
yet.

Session Expired for Profile Publishing
Ok. I''m not having any success with publishing profile FBML.
Example code:
class WelcomeController < ApplicationController
layout "facebook"
ensure_application_is_installed_by_facebook_user
def index
@user = facebook_session.user
...
@user.profile_fbml = render_to_string( :template => ''welcome/profile'' )
end

Better RESTful routes with fb_sig_request_method
With the new fb_sig_request_method provided by Facebook, I''ve patched
shanev''s pseudo-resource routes to generate restful routes, minus some
exceptions.
The announcement: http://www.facebook.com/developers/message.php#msg_126
Patch is submitted here: http://rubyforge.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=16105&group_id=4187&atid=16132

Facebook Redirects to Callback Path after log in
Hey,
I am wondering if anyone has run into this issue before. I can''t seem
to figure out what Facebook is doing.
I have an application that only requires Facebook Authentication, the
user doesn''t need to "add" the app. So at the top of my main
controller I have
class GettingStartedController < ApplicationController

Switching to ActiveRecord Session Store
I''m having a problem switching from cookie sessions (the default) to
active record sessions.
I''ve created the sessions table via the rake task, uncommented the
line
config.action_controller.session_store = :active_record_store
in my environment.rb file, cleared out my browsers cookies, restarted
the server (natch), but still the it''s using cookie_store instead of

form_tag and form_for cause #protect_from_forgery errors
Hey All,
I''m trying to do a simple form_for (and I also get it with form_tag)
and I''m getting the following error:
ActionView::TemplateError (No :secret given to the
#protect_from_forgery call. Set that or use a session store capable
of generating its own keys (Cookie Session Store).) on line #2 of
users/new.fbml.erb:

Problem on rack_setup
I''m having problems trying to set up facebooker on a Rails 2.3.2
project using :active_record_store for cookies. The problem happens
because of this commit:
http://github.com/mmangino/facebooker/commit/308770447db06433e505aaf27db2614cee213cc2
That code is trying to add the Rack::Facebook to the dispatch chain

session handling for non-facebook requests
I just committed a patch from David Clements to fix session sharing
between Facebook and Non-Facebook requests. I also cleaned up some of
the code so that you won''t get exceptions raised for InvalidSignatures
on non-Facebook requests.

Facebooker::Session::IncorrectSignature
I think I must be missing something obvious on this one, but I can''t get past the initial "ensure_application_is_installed_by_facebook_user" in a rails app that I''m trying to put together. I''m running on edge rails with the latest Facebooker as a plugin. I''ve tried adding my settings to the environment configs and recently I tried the new yaml

Memcache session store
Maybe a newbie question - but I''ve been unable to find any references to
this issue. I have a current facebook app using rfacebook and working on
getting it migrated to facebooker. It currently uses memcache for session
store, and when I try to fire up the application utilizing facebooker, I
receive a session_id invalid message since the session key contains a dash.

How to get a facebook session for desktop applications (or unit tests?)
Normally, in a rails app, all one would have to do is call
set_facebook_session, or the ensure_* filters to get a valid session.
I''ve been looking through the sessions code to figure out how to get a
valid session for desktop applications (or unit tests)--basically
outside of rails controller.
As far as I can ascertain, you should just be able to do this:
