Code editor for writing R code
Bert,
Posit (formerly RStudio) has moved from RMarkdown to Quarto. They
still support RMarkdown but major new features will be in Quarto. For
new users a better choice would be Quarto.
See https://quarto.org/docs/faq/rmarkdown.html
Secondly, the OP stated he was using the VS-Code IDE, so there is no
reason to point him to the Posit/RStudio IDE for this functionality
which VS-Code supports very

error con install_github() del paquete devtools
Hola,
Puedes hacerlo sin devtools. Descargas el ZIP del repositorio, lo
descomprimes, instalas el paquete que hay en CRAN para tener todas las
dependencias instaladas y finalmente instalas el paquete en la versión
de GitHub.
tmp <- paste0(tempdir(), '/likert.zip')

I'm creating a stacked bar chart using the likert command in the HH package. My data are in a data frame, with two numeric variables and a categorical variable, I can't get likert to use the column containing the categorical variable as a my y axis label.
Here is a quick example:

Working with the "likert" package and I can't figure out why my "bar" graphs

bars are backwards.

Hola,
En GitHub estará siempre la última versión, pero también está el paquete en
CRAN y puedes instalártelo como cualquier otro paquete ahí disponible...

Compare data between two groups/countries on 5-point Likert scale questionnare?
Hi everyone, I'm stuck on my dissertation which is due next week. I'm a
business major student and my project is a comparative research on corporate
social responsibility (CSR) between Chinese and German firms. According to
my literature review, it's quite obvious that German firms have much better
CSR initiatives and strategies than the Chinese ones and I wanted to test
whether it was

List-Archives ...
Hi everybody,
actually I wanted to search the list archive, before asking, but
unfortunately I don't "get" it:
$ gunzip 2018-May.txt.gz
gunzip: 2018-May.txt.gz: not in gzip format
It seems, that in every archive-file there is always one message in
plaintext and then a big binary block.
Any hint?
Thanks a lot,

PowerCut Killed R - is my code retrievable?
I've been tweaking code for several days on and off in R, cut and pasting in from a text editor (I just leave them open all the time). I think I got something that was usable but then a powersurge tripped the fuses and unfortunately the machine I was working on doesn't have a UPS.
Does R hold the command data in cache some place? I've purposefully not opened R since the crash so

Non-unique Values
I might be missing something really obvious, but is there an easy way to locate all non-unique values in a data frame?
Example
mydata <- numeric()
mydata$id <- 0:8
mydata$unique <- c(1:5, 1:4)
mydata$result <- c(1:3, 1:3, 1:3)
> mydata
$id
[1] 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
$unique
[1] 1 2 3 4 5 1 2 3 4
$result
[1] 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3

Is there a sexy way ...?
Admit it, Rolf. Haven't you wondered if S, in a more private way, is sexier than R?
OK, kidding aside, we have talked this to death.
Just FYI, the conversation was stimulating for some of us and I have continued on my own and located functions I see as useful in the stringi and stringr packages to make my silly version ever less silly! LOL!

how to simulate Likert-type data using R
Dear R members
Could someone tell me how to simulate Likert-type data using the rnorm
function.
Let's say, 200*15 random numbers in a variable that goes from 1 to 4 in
steps of
1 (i.e., 1, 2, 3, 4) belonging to a normal distribution?
random.data <— matrix(rnorm(200 * 15), nrow = 200, ncol = 15)
random.data
The result cannot be reached.
could one help me revise the syntax?
