NUT not shutting down one of three UPSs (sometimes none of them shut down)
I have three APC SmartUPS 5000s. Two of them are AP9617 and one is AP9619.
I have a RS-232 connections from my monitor host to all three. All three
report status and give information.
One of the two AP9617 - ups3-1 - does not shut down when FSD is sent. It
did when I first set this system up a year or two ago but it's stopped
doing so since then. Resetting the management interface does not

some questions on AOX or rather a mail system setup
Hi folks.
Perhaps you find some time to look into this,...
I'm trying to plan my mail system and would have some questions.
The overall idea is about the following:
- There is a (internet) server, which is the MTA (which will be postfix)
and imap and/or pop3 server (which shall be, guess, dovecot ... AOX comes in later).
- Any spam filtering, virus-scanning, mail filtering happens on that

Accessing ENVSXP and CLOSXP while processing parsed R code
Hello Guys,
Following up my earlier mail where I am trying to write an alternative
front-end for R, I had a question about accessing the closures and
environments in R code.
Here's the function taken and modified a little from "*Lexical Scope and
Statistical Computing*"

Notification delay (COMMBAD)
Hello
Is it possible to limit the frequency of specific notifications? In 2.7.4
it seems to be possible only for REPLBATT via RBWARNTIME, but that's it.
My specific problem is that the UPS got disconnected and before I got hold
of the server to turn the upsmon off my mailbox got flooded with hundreds
of messages.
It probably doesn't make sense for all notification types, but for

How to treat UPS status of TRIM as on line
I am using NUT 2.6.5 as part of FreeNAS 9.2.0. I am using an APC Smart-UPS
5000 RM DL4 with a AP9619 network management card. NUT properly detects
when the UPS goes on battery and initiates a shutdown after the configured
time. The problem I have is that I am using a 208V unit on a 240V circuit.
That means the normal state for the UPS is "TRIM". NUT doesn't treat that
as an on line

aggregating irregular time series
Hi,
I have a couple of aggregation operations that I don't know how to
accomplish. Let me give an example. I have the following irregular
time series
time x
10:00:00.021 20
10:00:00.224 20
10:00:01.002 19
10:00:02:948 20
1) For each entry time, I'd like to get sum of x for the next 2
seconds

sapply( ) a loop function
Hello R-universe...
I am having trouble writing a function which contains a loop so I can sapply() it to a list of data frames
Each data frame has 241 observations of 15 variables. My loop takes a random sample of one row until the 40 consecutive rows after the sample have a d2p(variable) sum greater than 5.
here is my loop code (it works fine when applied to a 241 observation data frame):

nut-scanner, SNMPv3, APC UPS not chatting
I'm trying to get SNMPv3 management working for an APC AP9617 card. It is
newly refurbed, running sumx v3.7.2 and aos v3.7.3.
In the SNMPv3 user profiles section I have (I don't care about the password
leaking, it's temporary):
User Name: nut
Authentication Passphrase: NutScan at Password43LongerWord
Privacy Passphrase: NutScan at Password43LongerWord

[EXTERNAL] nut-scanner, SNMPv3, APC UPS not chatting
Just a hunch about your snmpwalk, what happens if you format like this?
snmpwalk -l authpriv -v 3 -u user -a MD5 -x DES -A authpassphrase -X privpassphrase {host address}
so
snmpwalk -l authpriv -v 3 -u nut -a MD5 -x DES -A NutScan at Password43LongerWord -X NutScan at Password43LongerWord apcups
Thank you,
David Zomaya

SNMPv3 fails when more than one UPS is configured in ups.conf
New NUT install dealing with three APC Smart-UPS 5000s, two of which
have AP9617 and the third has a AP9619 card.
The SNMPv3 configurations on all three are exactly the same. This is
confirmed by snmpget calls that work just fine:
snmpget -Cf -v3 -u [...] -l authPriv -A '[...]' -X '[...]' -a
MD5 -x DES [upsname] .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.1.1.1.0
snmp-ups can query all three

Getting two notifications of nocomm-timer expired when USB cable is pulled from the UPS
NUT 2.8.01
When I pull the USB cable from the UPS, I get two notifications of the nocomm-timer expired. The first notification is in the proper sequence, the second notification occurs after 'commok' occurs. Seems somehow that upssched-cmd is getting a second nocomm-timer expired delayed.

To begin with, I installed the net-snmp and net-snmp-devel packages,

Exclude COMMBAD status as a shutdown event?
Hi,
As my subject says, I am struggling with the shutdown behaviour of my
NUT slaves, when the communication to the master is bad (COMMBAD).
From upsmon.conf:
#

# SHUTDOWNCMD "<command>"
#
# upsmon runs this command when the system needs to be brought down.
Ok.... obviously, in the

System Shutting Down Shortly After Boot, COMMBAD, "Writing Error", "Data Receiving Error"
I've been having a problem with my system during boot, which results in a
upsd/upsmon COMMBAD event shutting the system down shortly after it is
started. The shutdown is dependent upon the number of processes started at
boot time, and their load. Fewer processes and lighter load, and there is
no shutdown. More processes and heavy load cause upsd/upsmon to shut the
system down shortly after

validating ambient.temperature from APC IEM (AP9618, AP9619) patch
Hi Dmitry and the list,
would you (or anyone owning such a device) be able to validate the below patch:

Most notably, it's about the paths changes:

little manipulation on data frame
Dear all,
I have data like 3 coulmns and many rows. Each entry
is less than 10.
Example
x y z
1 5 3 2
2 3 7 8
3 8 9 5
4 5 4 6
--------------------------
---------------------------
I have to sum entries of each coulmn (seperately) till
it be 10. This i have to start for each row. And I
want to assign no. of rows needed including that row
too(it to be 10 or 10+, the moment it exceeds 10, i
