cloning disk with zpool
Hello the list, I thought that it should be easy to do a clone (not in the term of zfs) of a disk with zpool. This manipulation is strongly inspired by http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=135038 and http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/zfs/boot/ But unfortunately this doesn''t work, and we do have no clue what could be wrong on c1d0 you have a zfs root create a

ZFS Boot Won''t work with a straight or mirror zfsroot
Using build 70, I followed the zfsboot instructions at http:// www.opensolaris.org/os/community/zfs/boot/zfsboot-manual/ to the letter. I tried first with a mirror zfsroot, when I try to boot to zfsboot the screen is flooded with "init(1M) exited on fatal signal 9" Than I tried with a simple zfs pool (not mirrored) and it just reboots right away. If I try to setup grub

zfs boot error recovery
hi all, i would like to ask some questions regarding best practices for zfs recovery if disk errors occur. currently i have zfs boot (nv62) and the following setup: 2 si3224 controllers (each 4 sata disks) 8 sata disks, same size, same type i have two pools: a) rootpool b) datapool the rootpool is a mirrored pool, where every disk has a slice (the s0, which is 5 % of the whole disk) and this

Templates and self-knowledge
So, I''m into templating. I *like* templating. What I *don''t* like, of course, is to have to use multiple, similar templates for different output files. So, let''s work a concrete example. Suppose I have a template "standard_profile.erb" which looks like this: install_type initial_install > > system_type standalone > > partitioning

[LLVMdev] Questions about deallocation responsibilities
I am, from a front end, calling functions like LLVMModuleCreateWithName, found in Core.h, ultimately calling LLVMWriteBitcodeToFile, found in BitWriter.h. Do I correctly presume, from the existence of LLVMDisposeModule, that I am responsible for calling it when I'm done? Will I need to do deeper disposing myself? I presume at least I will need to free strings I allocated myself, such as the

How to resolve debug info forward types
Before metadata was separated from values, I could create a debug info forward declaration and eventually resolve it using LLVMReplaceAllUsesWith in core.h. Now, I can't figure out how to resolve it. I can find no function that seems to do this. My one wild guess that giving the forward decl and the resolving decl the same UniqueId might do it is not working. I am currently using 3.6.1, but

Advise on which copy to use.
I am generating llvm code for nested procedures. Each one gets a static link, which I am passing as an internally added, first parameter. However, it needs to be stored in memory too, so a debugger can find it. So, when I need to use the value, is it better to use the ssl parameter or load the memory copy? I can imagine the ssl value might avoid unnecessary fetches, but then, it might also

[LLVMdev] Resolving an opaque type in llvm-assembly
According to the Assembly language reference: "In LLVM, opaque types can eventually be resolved to any type (not just a structure type)." But the only way I can think of to do so is to give it a type name, then later redeclare the name. But that gives an error: %TO = type opaque %TF = type i32 ( %TO* ) %TO = type %TF gives: $ llvm-as types1.ll llvm-as: types1.ll:3:1: error:

[LLVMdev] Parameter names in IR and debug info
Have I correctly inferred below, how I build IR and debug info for a function type and a function (value), in particular, how to supply the names of the formal parameters? To create a function in llvm IR and give names to its formal parameters, I must: 1. Build a LLVMTypeRef for the type of each formal and the function result. 2. Build a function type using LLVMFunctionType, from the results of

How do set 'nest' addribute in an indirect call?
I need to set the 'next' attribute on a parameter. If the function is to be directly called, i.e., a function constant, I am getting what I want as follows (using the C 'Core.h' binding) 1) Build a function type, using LLVMFunctionType. 2) Build a function value, passing the result of 1) to LLVMAddFunction 3) Go through the formal parameters of 2), using LLVMGet[First|Next]Param,

Don't Understand Error Entry
I am using dovecot-0.99.11-8.EL4 on my system and decided to check the logs since I just took over as the administrator on this system and I noticed the same error entry over and over in the logs. I went to /var/log/dovecot.err and see: imap(rangry): May 22 13:33:31 Error: Error parsing IMAP envelope: "Thu, 20 Apr 2006 10:10:01 -0400" "Re: Hi there I have a question"

[LLVMdev] [un]wrapping llvm:DITypeRef
In trying to write a C binding for DIBuilder of llvm 3.6.1, I can't see a way to unwrap llvm::DITypeRef, declared in include/llvm/IR/DebugInfo.h. This is a class with one data member, a pointer to Metadata. If I try to make my C type a struct with one pointer, I can't cast it to DITypeRef. If I try to go inside the classes and use the pointer, I can cast, but can't construct a

How to resolve debug info forward types
It's now a multi-stage process. First, there is a difference between a permanent forward declaration (i.e. the actual definition is in a different file) and a temporary forward declaration (i.e. it will appear later in the same file). To create a permanent forward declaration: DICompositeType *result = m_DIBuilder->createForwardDecl( dwarf::DW_TAG_structure_type,

Foreign key confusion
I have 2 models right now: "users" and "posts". When a user creates a post I would like their id to be recorded under "user_id" in the "posts" table. Under the "user" model I have: class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :posts end And under the "posts" model I have: class Post < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user

ATA186 V2.15.ms
Hi I have a brand new ATA186 with the following firmware: Version: v2.15.ms ata186 (Build 020919a) I have been through the archives about how to configure it, but my colorful configuration web page does not have the same fields that people say I need to adjust. Even the examples on Cisco's web site don;t match. For example, I don't have the GtkOrProxy field, which is an important

[LLVMdev] How to figure out what #includes are needed?
This is partly an llvm question, and maybe partly C++. I am trying to make calls on code in the llvm infrastructure.(3.4.2) I appear to be missing some include files, but don't know how to track them down. I get compile errors on existing llvm header files, like the following two examples: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In file included
