[PATCH] drm/nouveau: Fix drm poll_helper handling
Commit cae9ff036eea effectively disabled the drm poll_helper by checking the wrong flag to see if the driver should enable the poll or not: mode_config.poll_enabled is only set to true by poll_init and it is not indicating if the poll is enabled or not. nouveau_display_create() will initialize the poll and going to disable it right away. After poll_init() the mode_config.poll_enabled will be true,

[PATCH v4 1/8] drm/nouveau: Fix bogus drm_kms_helper_poll_enable() placement
Turns out this part is my fault for not noticing when reviewing 9a2eba337cace ("drm/nouveau: Fix drm poll_helper handling"). Currently we call drm_kms_helper_poll_enable() from nouveau_display_hpd_work(). This makes basically no sense however, because that means we're calling drm_kms_helper_poll_enable() every time we schedule the hotplug detection work. This is also against the

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: Prevent handling ACPI HPD events too early
On most systems with ACPI hotplugging support, it seems that we always receive a hotplug event once we re-enable EC interrupts even if the GPU hasn't even been resumed yet. This can cause problems since even though we schedule hpd_work to handle connector reprobing for us, hpd_work synchronizes on pm_runtime_get_sync() to wait until the device is ready to perform reprobing. Since runtime

[PATCH 2/2] drm/nouveau: Avoid looping through fake MST connectors
When MST and atomic were introduced to nouveau, another structure that could contain a drm_connector embedded within it was introduced; struct nv50_mstc. This meant that we no longer would be able to simply loop through our connector list and assume that nouveau_connector() would return a proper pointer for each connector, since the assertion that all connectors coming from nouveau have a full

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: Remove no longer needed local ACPI_VIDEO_NOTIFY_PROBE define
The local #define of ACPI_VIDEO_NOTIFY_PROBE was only added temporarily to avoid a dependency between the acpi and nouveau trees while merging. This is now properly defined in acpi/video.h and the local #define can be dropped. [PATCH] drm/nouveau: Remove duplicate ACPI_VIDEO_NOTIFY_PROBE definition
From: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas at google.com> Commit 3a6536c51d5d ("drm/nouveau: Intercept ACPI_VIDEO_NOTIFY_PROBE") added a definition of ACPI_VIDEO_NOTIFY_PROBE because <acpi/video.h> didn't supply one. Later, commit eff4a751cce5 ("ACPI / video: Move ACPI_VIDEO_NOTIFY_* defines to acpi/video.h") moved ACPI_VIDEO_NOTIFY_PROBE and other definitions to

[PATCH v4 7/8] drm/nouveau: Fix deadlocks in nouveau_connector_detect()
When we disable hotplugging on the GPU, we need to be able to synchronize with each connector's hotplug interrupt handler before the interrupt is finally disabled. This can be a problem however, since nouveau_connector_detect() currently grabs a runtime power reference when handling connector probing. This will deadlock the runtime suspend handler like so: [ 861.480896] INFO: task

[PATCH 1/2] drm/nouveau: Rename acpi_work to hpd_work
We need to call drm_helper_hpd_irq_event() on resume to properly detect monitor connection / disconnection on some laptops. For runtime-resume (which gets called on resume from normal suspend too) we must call drm_helper_hpd_irq_event() from a workqueue to avoid a deadlock. Rename acpi_work to hpd_work, and move it out of the #ifdef CONFIG_ACPI blocks to make it suitable for generic work.

[PATCH 3/5] drm/nouveau: Fix deadlock on runtime suspend
nouveau's ->runtime_suspend hook calls drm_kms_helper_poll_disable(), which waits for the output poll worker to finish if it's running. The output poll worker meanwhile calls pm_runtime_get_sync() in nouveau_connector_detect() which waits for the ongoing suspend to finish, causing a deadlock. Fix by not acquiring a runtime PM ref if nouveau_connector_detect() is called in the output

[RFC v4 00/20] drm/dp, i915, nouveau: Cleanup nouveau HPD and add DP features from i915
Most of the reason I'm asking for an RFC here is because this code pulls a lot of code out of i915 and into shared DP helpers. Anyway-nouveau's HPD related code has been collecting dust for a while. Other then the occasional runtime PM related and MST related fixes, we're missing a lot of nice things that have been added to DRM since this was originally written. Additionally, the code

[RFC v2 00/20] drm/dp, i915, nouveau: Cleanup nouveau HPD and add DP features from i915
To start off: this patch series is less work to review then it looks - most (but not all) of the nouveau related work has already been reviewed elsewhere. Most of the reason I'm asking for an RFC here is because this code pulls a lot of code out of i915 and into shared DP helpers. Anyway-nouveau's HPD related code has been collecting dust for a while.
