Workstation Limited to NT1 Protocol
I tried disabling SMB1 and enabling SMB2/3 and after reboot, I can't
connect to any of my Samba servers...so looks to definitely be a
workstation issue.

Workstation Limited to NT1 Protocol
Just saw that, as well.
After running the commands to enable SMB2 & SMB3 and rebooting...no luck.
Will keep searching for other registry settings.

Hi!
I just set up a PDF printer via Samba 2.2.5 according to the article given in
the German magazine iX of March.
Now I have the problem that at the first time I done this a file appeared in
the resulting pdfshare (the file created by Word which I test with) but
afterwards I cannot get it running again (although I restarted smbd and
nmbd). No

Samba or Cups-Problem ?
Hi,
I'm using some kind of pseudo printer on our samba server to automatically
produce PDF files. The smb.conf looks like this (the samba server is
successfully conteced to an ADS):
[global]
workgroup = ADS
netbios name = pc103.ads.local
realm = ADS.LOCAL
security = ADS
password server = win2ksrv.ads.local
log level = 2

print command=... not longer working after update
Hi,
after an update from 3.0.4 to 3.0.7 Samba does not longer honor the
"print command" parameter. I use the parameter to implement a
pdf-printer.
Before the update, printing to the pdfprinter worked, after I see the
following in the logs:
---
[2004/09/20 23:00:15, 8] printing/nt_printing.c:unpack_devicemode(2368)
with a private section of 708 bytes

PDF printer and wiidows driver auto-download.
Hello =)
I got some problem configuring a pdf printer and make windows
to download automagically drivers from [print$] share on my
samba 3.0.1 server.
Well, I've configured a pdf printer (based on this doc:
http://www.linuxgazette.com/issue72/bright.html), tested it
and it works pretty well =)
To install the printer on windows side, I connect to the host,
browse to samba server, right-click

strange locks
Hi,
I added these lines to smb.conf:
kernel op locks = false
op locks = false
strict locking = true
so I could see some locks from the unix level.
It worked sorta, I see the locks for big files
(but not the locks I was expecting), but for little
files it shows nothing:
# ./lock_list /opt/testsambashare/mattest.doc
# ./lock_list /opt/testsambashare/contents.doc

Is it possible to re-share a SMB2 filesystem for SMB1 clients?
Hi everyone,
I'm having the following situation:
I need to migrate all SMB file services to a new appliance that only
supports the SMB2+ protocol. Unfortunately, there are still some very
old Linux clients ("modinfo cifs" says version 1.60) that do only speak
SMB1 and need to access these shares after the migration.
Is it possible to have a Linux with a modern Samba

Turning off SMB1 make slashdot and theregister !
We can't do that until we provide a reasonable way for SMB1 clients to
connect, probably via a SMB1 -> SMB2 proxy based on the NTVFS file
server (where we had such a prototype until very recently).
It won't be perfect SMB1, but needs to be enough for basic operation.
I'm quite convinced Samba and SMB1 are critical infrastructure in many
places and while we may dislike SMB1 for

get errors when doing a tar backup of a windows server with linux smbclient
Hello all,
We have a script that does a nightly backup of a windows server to a linux
fileserver. The linux system uses smbclient to make a tarball of the share.
I get this error when running smbclient:

SMB2 write performace slower than SMB1 in 10Gb network
Hi forks:
I've been testing SMB2 with samba 3.6.4 performance these days,
and I find a weird benchmark that SMB2 write performance is
slower than SMB1 in 10Gb ethernet network.

smbclient fails to authenticate with non extended-security SMB1 server after applying badlock patches
Hi,
We support an older version SMB1 server (propietary implementation) which does not support extended security . Mapping a share from that server, using smbclient, was working before applying badlock patches (to the smbclient) , with default settings in smb.conf. However, after applying badlock patches, smbclient fails to map with default settings. When I set the option : "client ntlmv2

problem with force group parameter
Hello!
I tryed to configure Debian Linux file server as Windows 2003 domain
member using samba with security = ADS mode and stucked with such problem:
File server (fs) succesfully joined my domain with correct user and
group mapping (i'm using idmap rid). Users from domain have their unix

appdynamics php agent prevented by SELinux
Hey guys,
I've got another C7 problem I was hoping to solve. I
installed appdynamics-php-agent-4.0.5.0-1.x86_64 on a C7.1 host.
It's failing to communicate with it's controller on another host. And this
is the interesting part. Whether or not I have SELinux enabled, I have
apache reporting SELinux problems.

R thread safe
Dear R-dev,
I would like to accelerate my R computation by using parallel OpenMP compilers
(e.g from Pathscale) on a 2-processor AMD server and I would like to know
whether R is a tread safe library. The main kernel of the OpenMP
parallelization is a C SEXP function that performs the computational routine in
parallel with:

Self heal problem
Hi,
I have a glusterfs volume replicated on three nodes. I am planing to use
the volume as storage for vMware ESXi machines using NFS. The reason for
using tree nodes is to be able to configure Quorum and avoid
split-brains. However, during my initial testing when intentionally and
gracefully restart the node "ned", a split-brain/self-heal error
occurred.

special handling of row.names
Hello,
I think there is an inconsistency in the handling of the compact form of the row.names attributes.
When n is the number of rows of a data.frame, the compact form is c(NA_integer_,-n), as in:

ALTREP wrappers and factors
Hi Kylie,
For your question, I don't think a wrapper can completely solve your
problem. The duplication occurs since your variable y has more than 1
reference number( Please see highlighted), so even you have a wrapper, any
changes on the value of the wrapper still can trigger the duplication.
