Hi list, I''ve did some tests and run into a very strange situation.. I created a zvol using "zfs create -V" and initialize an sam-filesystem on this zvol. After that I restored some testdata using a dump from another system. So far so good. After some big troubles I found out that releasing files in the sam-filesystem doesn''t create space on the underlying zvol.

I know that zfs knows all about what blocks have been changed, but can one map that to a file list? Formerly, if you interrupted a zfs receive, it would leave a clone with a % in its name, and you could find it via "zdb -d" and then you could destroy the clone, and then you could destroy the filesystem you had interrupted receiving. That was considered a bug, and it was fixed, I think by Sun. If the lingering clone was discovered laying around, zfs would automatically destroy it.
