Permanently removing vdevs from a pool
Is it possible to gracefully and permanently remove a vdev from a pool without data loss? The type of pool in question here is a simple pool without redundancies (i.e. JBOD). The documentation mentions for instance offlining, but without going into the end results of doing that. The thing I''m looking for is an option to evacuate, for the lack of a better word, the data from a specific

b89 xVM Source tar bundle is corrupted on the on download site
Apparently the b89 xvm-src.tar.bz2 tar bz2 archive is corrupted / truncated
on the b89 source download page:
http://dlc.sun.com/osol/on/downloads/b89/
http://dlc.sun.com/osol/on/downloads/b89/xvm-src.tar.bz2
In the past, the xvm-src.tar.bz2 file had a size of ~ 100 mbytes;
with b89 the size of the downloadable archive is only 72 mbytes.
And bzip2 complains:

Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8
Bouncing a thread from the device drivers list:
http://opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=357176
Does anybody know if OpenSolaris will support this new Supermicro card,
based on the Marvell 88SE6480 chipset? It''s a true PCI Express 8 port JBOD
SAS/SATA controller with pricing apparently around $125.
If it works with OpenSolaris it sounds pretty much perfect.

Possible problems with EventLog#write
Hi,
I''ve got EventLog#write and EventLog.add_event_source methods done.
Well, I *think* they''re done, but I can''t get the data (text) to work
properly, and I''m not sure if it''s a bug in my .mc file, the
add_event_source method, the write method, or just a goof in my test file.
The source, category and event id seem to be ok. However, the

Optimisation opportunity for IMAP searches
Hello,
I love Dovecot, but when developing a small IMAP tool, I ran into searching behaviour can easily be optimised. Please forgive a rather detailed suggestion. This was on Dovecot 1.2.15 on Debian Squeeze.
My tool? It's called "midget" and retrieves documents from an IMAP box based on their mid: or cid: identifier, as per RFC 2392. I thought this would be useful to retrieve

S/MIME certificates in Samba 4 LDAP
Dear Samba users and developers,
we had the idea of storing S/MIME certificates in the Samba 4 LDAP.
In the Windows Active Directory Users and Computers tool I can use the
"Published Certificates" tab to add a certificate to a user account.
As Mozilla Thunderbird requests the "userCertificate;binary" attribute
of a user when sending encrypted mail, the LDAP response is empty.

s10 HVM 64-bit boot
Hi --
I wanted to boot s10 HVM in 64-bit mode but it always boots in 32-bit

Or is it HVM loader?
The grub entry is like this

Can I "upgrade" a striped pool of vdevs to mirrored vdevs?
Hi,
once I created a zpool of single vdevs not using mirroring of any kind. Now I wonder if it''s possible to add vdevs and mirror the currently existing ones.
Thanks,
budy
