Opteron Mobo Suggestions
I've been planning to build a dual Opteron server for awhile. I'd like
to get people's suggestions on a suitable motherboard.
I've looked at the Tyan K8SE (S2892) and K8SRE (S2891) but would like to
find more Linux-specific experiences with these boards.
Some features I expect are at least 4 SATA (SATA-300?) ports, serial
console support in the BIOS, USB 2.0 and IEEE-1394

why 'Template missing' error with form_tag?
ROR newbie here...
I''m trying to build a form to upload a CSV file, then parse and store the
data. I have debugged this code up this point, but now when I browse to my
csv file, and click Upload, I get this error:
"Missing template uploads/process_file.html.erb in view path..."
Here is my view (in /uploads/new.html.erb)

OT: UPS battery vendor, cont'd
Here's the state of my search: BatteriesPlus is... odd. The corporate
site, and after a phone call, tell me they don't do GSA, but some of their
franchises do. I called the local one, and they do.
However, the only RBC 43 they offer, I might as well buy direct from APC,
at well over $300 for the set.
Battery Sharks, and Apex, don't do GSA... but they *do* offer replacements

Error message GSA package
Dear list,
I have gene expression measurements obtained by PCR on 11 genes,
tabulated as a data matrix.
I'm attempting to use GSA package to distinguish any significant changes
in these genes as a pathway.
My response variable is binary, 0=no disease, 1=disease.
I have read the PCR data into R as follows:

Gale-Shapley Algorithm for R
Dear R-helpers,
I'm not a speciallist in writing complex functions, and the function still
very rusty (any kind of suggestions are very welcome). I want to implement
Gale-Shapley algorithm for R Language. It is based on
http://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/2312726 Gale and Shapley (1962) , and it

Generating R plots via Ruby CGI
Greetings,
I'm trying to debug a simple two-line plot routine in R called test.R:
cor(swiss)
plot(swiss$Catholic, swiss$Examination)
These commands work fine when typed into R. They also work fine when
I invoke this routine by the following line into my terminal:
R --slave < /Library/WebServer/Documents/gsa/test.R
My ultimate goal is to send data to this R routine via a web

Gluster deamon fails to start
This is in relation to bringing up a new oVirt environment.
When I was bringing up oVirt (Hosted-Engine), I had the Glusterd service stopped, since the server (I have its name as GSAoV07) was initially only going to be used to host the oVirt engine as a hypervisor (it will have Gluster volumes in the near future). I have three other servers I am using for storage. One of those three is also going

minor swap issue ....
.... I have a CentOS 5.n VM running on a Fedora 14 server/host,
installed using virt-manager, pretty plain vanilla. I use it to compile
binaries to run under RHEL/CentOS 5.n OS. I occasionally notice that
when the VM gets paged out by the server, it takes several minutes to
get it back in :-/ (see below).
On the host, logged in to a shell through a terminal window, this A.M.:

Checking if the VM has been created
I'm a Libvirt newbie and I'd really appreciate it if someone could answer
my doubts. I'm using Libvirt's Java API.
My doubts:
1.Currently, I'm able to create a VM on Ubuntu 11.04 using Libvirt
functions domainCreateLinux() and domainDefineXML(). Apart fromt the
boolean return status of these operations and running the virsh list
command, is there any way to SSH in (login) to

Gluster deamon fails to start
glusterd failed to resolve addresses of the bricks. This could happen
either because of glusterd was trying to resolve the address of the brick
before the N/W interface was up or a change in the IP? If it's the latter
then a point to note is that it's recommended that cluster should be formed
using hostname otherwise if the server goes through IP change we have to
change the configuration

Software RAID and GRUB on CentOS 7
Hi,
When I perform a software RAID 1 or RAID 5 installation on a LAN server
with several hard disks, I wonder if GRUB already gets installed on each
individual MBR, or if I have to do that manually. On CentOS 5.x and 6.x,
this had to be done like this:
# grub
grub> device (hd0) /dev/sda
grub> device (hd1) /dev/sdb
grub> root (hd0,0)
grub> setup (hd0)
grub> root (hd1,0)
grub>

Gluster deamon fails to start
Thank you for your response. There has been no change of IP addresses. And I have tried restarting the glusterd service multiple times.
I am using fully qualified names with a DNS server that has forward and reverse setup.
Something I had noticed is that, with oVirt, communication is being attempted over the VM network, rather than storage network. Which is not how the bricks are defined. Not sure

How to setup routed networking in CLI ....
.... I have a 64-bit CentOS 5.6 VM running on a 64-bit FC14 host. I have
the stock networking (NAT), but I need routed to be able to access other
boxen on my LAN. I looked at the docs on the libvirtd website, but their
example of how to setup routed networking is for the GUI, which doesn't
work for me (text in buttons, etc. doesn't display, no gfx card on
host). The man pages are

Ongoing VM saga ....
.... I have a 64-bit CentOS 5.6 VM running on a 64-bit FC-14 host. I was
originally using the stock NAT networking on the guest, which could
access the host, but nothing else on the network. I eventually found
some links on how to setup routed networking on the guest using a
specifically setup bridge. I followed the example a bit too closely,
bridging my eth0 interface, which is the one I
